On June 11, 2026, I, Ofc. Garcia 827 was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Auburn Valley Way for a physical Domestic Dispute.

Upon arrival, I activated my body camera and made contact with the victim, [VICTIM #1], outside of her neighbor’s house. Ms. [VICTIM #1] was very upset and crying. She stated she had just had a physical altercation with her boyfriend, Derrick Williams, who was still in the home with their shared two children.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she was working from home when she heard Mr. Williams speaking to their two boys, [REDACTED] and [REDACTED], in a very disturbing way. She stated she overheard Mr. Williams ask one of the boys if he wanted him to snap his neck. This prompted Ms. [VICTIM #1] to go to Mr. Williams, who was in the restroom getting their boys out of a bath, and to tell him not to speak to the children in that manner.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Williams then punched her in the left cheek. She then stated Mr. Williams threw her to the floor and continuously punched her in her chest area. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated her children were present at this time of the dispute.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised Mr. Williams was in the residence with her children. I knocked on the front door, and Mr. Williams would not answer the door. After Ofc. Evans knocked, Mr. Williams came to the door and stated he was getting his boys dressed. Mr. Williams immediately asked if he could speak with us and stated Ms. [VICTIM #1] was always doing this and exaggerating situations.

Mr. Williams stated he was bathing his children and scolding them when Ms. [VICTIM #1] came into the restroom and advised him she would get the boys out of the bath and dressed, snatched the lotion from him, and bumped into him as she passed. He then stated they ended up on the floor, both grabbed onto each other, but no punches were thrown. I observed that Mr. William was not specific about the situation and was unable to explain how they ended up on the floor.

I went to speak with Ms. [VICTIM #1] and asked her to confirm her side, and she did. She also showed me her chest and cheek. I did see visible bruising on the right side of her chest and shoulder area. Mr. Williams was then arrested for Battery Family Violence and Cruelty to Children in the 3rd degree times 2. He was placed in handcuffs, doublelocked, and secured. Ofc. Evans took Mr. Williams to my patrol vehicle.

I photographed Ms. [VICTIM #1]’ injuries and provided her with resources. I also advised her she could obtain a Temporary Protective Order if she felt the need to.

Mr. Williams asked to speak to me while in my patrol vehicle; I read him his Miranda rights, and he agreed. He stated he felt Ms. [VICTIM #1] was upset at an earlier argument. When asked if he made the statement of “snapping his child’s neck,” he stated no. He stated he told his son, “If you keep lying, I will whoop your a*s.” He also stated it was just a form of scare that he does not hit his children.

Mr. Williams was taken to Barrow County Detention Center; mileage and times were documented through dispatch.
