On March 14, 2026, I, Ofc. Garcia 827 was dispatched to [400 BLOCK] Wages Rd. at approximately 0020, in reference to an assault with injuries. Dispatch advised that the 911 caller, [WITNESS #1], stated her roommate, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], was sexually assaulted by Deshon Washington.

Upon arrival, I activated my body cam and made contact with two males, Deshon Washington and [REDACTED].

I then asked Mr. Washington to step outside and asked him what had happened. Mr. Washington stated he had sex with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. I asked Mr. Washington if it was consensual sex, to which he stated, “Yes.” He then stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] came out of her room and went to the living room where he was and told him she wanted to have sex.

I then made my way to the back room, where Ms. [WITNESS #1] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were located. I observed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] lying on her side on the bed, and she seemed to be having trouble responding. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had silent seizures and seemed to be having one at that moment. Med Unit was already en route.

I asked Ms. [WITNESS #1] what happened, and she stated that she and her roommates had been drinking to celebrate [REDACTED BY AGENCY] birthday. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she was with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the backroom until [REDACTED BY AGENCY] went to sleep. Ms. [WITNESS #1] then went to her fiancé, [WITNESS #2], who was in another room, and was in the room with him when Mr. [WITNESS #2] advised Ms. [WITNESS #1] he had heard [REDACTED BY AGENCY] make a noise. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated she was very alert to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] silent seizures, so she ran to the other room to check on [REDACTED BY AGENCY], when she saw Mr. Washington having intercourse with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] while she was not alert. She stated she yelled at Mr. Washington and told him to “back up.” Ms.[WITNESS #1] stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] body was half on the bed and half hanging off with her pants and panties pulled down. She also stated she saw Mr. Washington’s p*nis as he retrieved himself from [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated that when she left [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the room sleeping, the door was closed, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was not alert. She stated Mr. Washington made threats towards her and was very angry because she was confronting him about what he had done. She stated she advised Mr. Washington from the begining of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] silent seizures and to listen for any abnormal noises and to let her know.

Upon running Mr. Washington’s identification number through dispatch, it was advised that Mr. Washington was wanted out of Bibbs CO. The warrant was confirmed by Bibbs CO, and Mr. Washington was arrested and transported to Barrow CO. without incident. He was placed in handcuffs, checked for fit, and double locked. Ofc. Evans 830 transported Mr. Washington.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton. I then drove to the same location until Detective Blocker arrived on scene.

Ms. [WITNESS #1] filled out a witness statement form

BOND DENIED BY BARROW SUPERIOR COURT

What this means: After hearing arguments on the bond motion filed by defense attorney Mary Peppers, a judge of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit denied bond for Deshon Harris Washington in case number 26-PI-199, which carries a charge of rape. The court checked off three specific reasons for the denial: Washington poses a significant risk of fleeing or failing to appear in court; Washington poses a significant threat or danger to any person or the community; and Washington poses a significant risk of committing a felony while the case is pending. Because bond was denied, Deshon Harris Washington will remain in custody while the case moves forward.

GRAND JURY RETURNS INDICTMENT — 2 COUNTS FILED AGAINST DESHON HARRIS WASHINGTON

What this means: A Barrow County grand jury formally indicted Deshon Harris Washington on two criminal counts during the February Term 2026 of Barrow Superior Court under case number 26-CR-268-C.

Count 1 charges Deshon Harris Washington with rape. Washington is accused of having carnal knowledge of the alleged victim forcibly and against her will between March 13 and March 14, 2026, in violation of O.C.G.A. 16-6-1. The exact date within that window was unknown to the grand jury at the time of indictment.

Count 2 charges Deshon Harris Washington with sexual battery. Washington is accused of intentionally making physical contact with the intimate parts of the alleged victim’s body without her consent — specifically by grabbing her vaginal area — between March 13 and March 14, 2026, in violation of O.C.G.A. 16-6-22.1(b).

An indictment means a grand jury reviewed the evidence presented by the prosecution and found probable cause to formally charge Washington with these offenses. Washington is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

CONSOLIDATED PRETRIAL MOTIONS FILED BY DEFENSE

What this means: Defense counsel filed consolidated pretrial motions on behalf of Deshon Harris Washington in case number 26-CR-268-C in Barrow Superior Court. Pretrial motions are formal requests asking the court to rule on legal issues before trial, such as suppression of evidence, discovery disputes, or other matters that may affect how the case proceeds.

7/9/26

What this means: Defense counsel filed a waiver of arraignment on behalf of Deshon Harris Washington.
