[NARRATIVE #1 on July 07, 2026]

On July 7, 2026 at approximately 0255 hours I responded code 1 to [1300 BLOCK] Creekview Dr in reference to an Assault with injuies.

Upon arrival, I made contact with Dontael Bowen when he opened the front door holding his right hand in a towel covered in blood. I instructed Dontael to step out of the house. As Dontael exited the front door, [VICTIM #1] came to the front door with blood all over her face, dripping down her shirt and her legs and feet. Deputy Wright spoke with Dontael outside, while I stepped inside to speak to [VICTIM #1].

Upon speaking with [VICTIM #1], I observed that her shirt had been ripped at the collar and her shirt was soaked in blood. [VICTIM #1] was using a paper towel to apply pressure to the gash on the right side of her temple to stop the bleeding. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and Dontael were in the sunroom having a couple drinks when a verbal argument ensued and Dontael locked her in the sunroom and took her phone. [VICTIM #1] stated she had to walk around the house and knock on the front door to get Dontael to open it for her. [VICTIM #1] stated that she went into their bedroom and pulled the covers off of Dontael and asked him where her phone was. [VICTIM #1] stated that Dontael got angry and got out of bed when the argument became physical. [VICTIM #1] stated that Dontael grabbed her and pushed her on the bed while using his hands to strangle her.

[VICTIM #1] stated she kept fighting and got to her taser where she was able to tase Dontael to get him off of her. [VICTIM #1] stated that this upset Dontael and he grabbed her and pushed her across the room and into a vanity mirror in the bedroom where her head was split open and his hand was cut. [VICTIM #1] then stated that after the physical altercation, Dontael entered the bathroom and would not give her the phone to call emergency services. [VICTIM #1] stated that she kept asking him and told him that she needed medical attention and she was able to call emergency services. There was blood droplets all the way through the residence to the master bedroom and the master bathroom.

Once the med unit arrived, [VICTIM #1] was checked by medical personnel, and a second med unit was called.

After speaking with [VICTIM #1], I made contact with Dontael who was about to be transported. Dontael stated that he and [VICTIM #1] were in the sunroom having a couple shots to celebrate his job. Dontael stated he was on the phone with his cousin when a verbal argument ensued and he locked [VICTIM #1] in the sunroom and went to bed. Dontael stated that approximately 30-45 minutes after locking the door, [VICTIM #1] was at the front door and he let her in. Dontael stated that he went back to the room and got in bed when [VICTIM #1] came in and ripped the covers off of him and asked him for her phone. Dontael stated that he told her he did not have her phone. Dontael then stated that he got out of the bed and exited the master bedroom and went to the guest bedroom.

He stated that [VICTIM #1] came into the guest bedroom and continued asking for her phone. Dontael stated that he has taken her cell phone in the past but did not take it tonight. Dontael stated he then went back to the master bedroom when [VICTIM #1] came into the room and threw a glass plate at him that shattered. He stated this is when he got out of the bed and the verbal argument became physical. Dontael admitted to placing his hands around [VICTIM #1]’s neck and ramming her into the vanity mirror where he cut his hand open. Dontael stated that at the moment [VICTIM #1] entered the guest bedroom she tased him.

Because Dontael did intentionally pushed [VICTIM #1] into the vanity causing a large cut to her head, admitting to choking [VICTIM #1], and intentionally locked her out of her home depriving her access to her own home. I developed probable cause to obtain warrants against Dontael for Aggravated Assault, Battery Family Violence, and Criminal Trespass-Interference with Property.

Dontael was transported to Northside Gwinnett for treatment. [VICTIM #1] refused transport and stated she would drive herself. Warrants to be obtained for Dontael.

[NARRATIVE #2 on July 07, 2026]

On July 7, 2026 at approximately 2200 I responded to [1300 BLOCK] Creekview Dr to conduct a warrant attempt for Dontael Bowen.

Upon arrival I made contact with Dontael Bowen, when he opened the front door. I explained to him that he was under arrest for the events that had previously transpired. I placed him in a set of flex cuffs due to the soft cast that was on his right arm. Deputy Wright searched him, Search Incident to arrest and he was placed in the back seat of the patrol car.

Dontael was transported to the Barrow County Detention Center where he was turned over to jail staff without incident. The backseat of the patrol car was checked before and after transport.
