On May 7, 2023,I was dispatched to the area of Highway 211 NW and Old Hog Mountain RD for a 19-year-old male who called Barrow County Dispatch asking for a ride home.
When I got to the area, I observed a male sitting on the storm drain next to the intersection. I met with the male who identified himself as Joseph Hunter. Joseph told me that he went to a party and drank way too much and blacked out. The last thing Joseph could remember was that he was at Waffle House in Hoschton and now he was at the intersection. Joseph admitted to drinking heavily and told me that he doesn’t normally drink so he should’ve never touched it.
I advised Joseph, due to him admitting to drinking while being 19 years old, he will be arrested for underage consumption of alcohol. Joseph stated he understood.
Joseph was searched incident to arrest with no contraband being located on his person. Joseph was placed in handcuffs behind his back, checked for proper fit, and double-locked. Joseph was placed in the back seat of my patrol car and transported to the Barrow County Detention Center. When we arrived at the detention center, I advised Joseph that I would be disposing of his vape due to him being under 21 years old. Joseph was turned over to detention staff without issue. The back seat of my patrol car was searched before the beginning of shift, before and after transportation and no contraband was located.
Joseph was arrested and cited for Minor in Possession (OCGA 3-3-23).
