[NARRATIVE #1 on May 04, 2026]

On this date, May 04, 2026, at approximately 0634 hours, I responded Code 1 to Monroe Hwy and Bethlehem Church Rd in reference to a Hit and Run.

I responded to the area above in reference to a caller observing a vehicle tangled into a fence off the roadway. In between [1000 BLOCK] and [1000 BLOCK] Monroe Hwy a silver Honda Accord with GA tag# [REDACTED] was found stuck in a fence. The vehicle was unoccupied and the engine bay was cold. A note was found on the passenger side dash with a phone number and under it was the name Zamiah, followed by “Hit a deer.”

In front of [1000 BLOCK] Monroe Hwy, a dead deer was visible. Adjacent to the deer were skid marks that followed into the grass and could be tracked to where the vehicle rested after it destroyed approximately 25 feet of fence. The fence was wooden and cattle wire. The wire was tangled into the front bumper of the vehicle. I had dispatch make attempts to call the number. Investigating the vehicle, it was found that the registered owner was Zamiah Johnson. Additionally, the phone number provided on the note matched a known phone number in our system for Zamiah.

No contact was made on the phone number by either dispatch or me because it would only go to voicemail. I had Deputy Daniels go to [200 BLOCK] Dreamland Cir in Winder to attempt to make contact with Zamiah or someone who may know where she is. Zamiah was not there and her grandmother stated she no longer lives there. Checking FLOCK, it was observed the vehicle was last seen driving south on Monroe Hwy at the intersection of W Star St at 0218 hours.

Attempts were made to find out which of the addresses owned the damage fence. No one answered or appeared to be home at either [1000 BLOCK] or [1000 BLOCK] Monroe Hwy.

The following was attached to this case:

  • Pictures of the note in the vehicle and flock hit

Myles Towing took possession of the silver Honda Accord with GA tag # [REDACTED]

My probable cause for the charges below is when I found a silver Honda Accord with GA tag # [REDACTED] registered to Zamiah Johnson on Monroe Hwy just South of Bethlehem Church Rd. The vehicle struck a deer and slid off the roadway damaging a fence near [1000 BLOCK] Monroe Hwy causing significant damage to the vehicle and approximately 25 feet of fence. A note was found on the passenger side dash with “(Phone number of registered owner) -Zamiah hit a deer”. A dead deer was seen laying off the roadway near [1000 BLOCK] Monroe Hwy. Zamiah was not on scene and never reported the accident.

[NARRATIVE #2 on May 05, 2026]

On this date, May 05, 2026, at approximately 1917 hours, I responded Code 1 to [200 BLOCK] Dreamland Cir in reference to a Warrant Attempt.

I called Zamiah Johnson in effort to get her statement regarding the Hit and Run that occurred on 05/04/2026. I asked her to meet to complete a written statement and she agreed to meet at the address above. She arrived and filled out a statement and told me that after hitting a deer she spun off the roadway in a fence. She added that a couple stopped behind her and spoke about whether to call 911 or not. They elected to simply write her name and number on a paper towel and leave. I asked dispatch to confirm on the warrants and once confirmed Zamiah was placed under arrest.

Zamiah Johnson was handcuffed behind the back. The handcuffs were double locked and checked for fit. A search of their person was conducted incident to arrest. No weapons or contraband were located. Zamiah Johnson was secured in the rear seat with a seat belt. Zamiah Johnson was escorted to the Barrow County Detention Center and released to deputies without incident.

A search of my rear seat was conducted before and after transport. No items were found.

The active warrants were served.
