On July 6th, 2026, at 0222 hours, I was dispatched to [400 BLOCK] Sunset Dr, Acworth, GA 30102, in reference to a physical domestic.

Before my arrival, dispatch advised me the male (Corri Darby) party who was involved had left in a blue hatchback car. Other responding deputies located a vehicle matching the description dispatch gave and conducted a traffic stop on it. Other deputies advised me Corri Darby (suspect) was the one driving the car.

While the other deputies were with Corri, I continued to the residence to speak with the others that was involved.

Upon arrival, I spoke with [VICTIM #1] (victim), who stated she was asleep when Corri came home this morning around 0115 hours. [VICTIM #1] stated that when Corri walked into the bedroom, he threw the TV remote at her, which woke her up. [VICTIM #1] stated Corri was telling her she needed to get up and get out and leave. [VICTIM #1] stated she told Corri she was not going to leave, and he came over to her and started hitting her multiple times with a closed fist. [VICTIM #1] stated she believes Corri hit her approximately four times. [VICTIM #1] stated that after Corri punched her, he grabbed her face with his hands and scratched her face.

[VICTIM #1] stated that after this incident, Corri had left the house for approximately ten to fifteen minutes and came back. [VICTIM #1] stated that when Corri came back, he started gathering her things out of their bedroom, telling her she is leaving with him. [VICTIM #1] stated she continued to tell Corri she was not going to leave with him. [VICTIM #1] stated Corri then walked up to her while she was standing near the bed and choked her with both of his hands. [VICTIM #1] stated she did lose her breath for a second when she was being choked. [VICTIM #1] stated that after she was choked is when [WITNESS #1] ( homeowner) called 911. [VICTIM #1] stated that when [WITNESS #1] was on the phone with 911, Corri left.

I observed a scratch mark on [VICTIM #1]’s left cheek that caused her to bleed. I observed [VICTIM #1]’s neck where she stated she was choked, and I observed a small cut to her throat. While observing [VICTIM #1]’s injuries, she told me this isn’t the first time Corri has been physical with her. [VICTIM #1] stated this is the first time she has had something done about it because she doesn’t want to be in this situation anymore. [VICTIM #1] stated Corri is her boyfriend who lives with her, but recently used to have a place of their own in Cartersville, GA.

I spoke with [WITNESS #2] (witness/homeowner), who stated that when [VICTIM #1] and Corri were in the physical altercation, [WITNESS #1] came into the room to wake him up. [WITNESS #2] stated that when he walked out of his bedroom, he observed Corri with his right hand around [VICTIM #1]’s neck and throat, and stated he could hear [VICTIM #1] gasp for air. [WITNESS #2] stated that when [WITNESS #1] called 911, Corri left.

I spoke with [WITNESS #1], who stated she didn’t witness the physical altercation between Corri and [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated she could hear [VICTIM #1] screaming during the altercation. [WITNESS #1] stated she called 911, and when she did is when Corri left shortly before my arrival.

While speaking with everyone in the house, I observed a young female juvenile that was awake in the living room. I asked [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] if she had witnessed the physical altercation. I spoke with the young female juvenile, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who stated she could hear the altercation but didn’t see it because the door was shut. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she could hear screaming and crying, and when the door opened, she saw [VICTIM #1]’s face with the scratch on it.

I spoke to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the presence of her parents, who are [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2].

I spoke with the deputies who were with Corri and advised them of the incident. I advised the deputies that Corri and [VICTIM #1]’s relationship falls under the Family Violence Act of Georgia. I advised the deputies of the charges and advised them to place Corri under arrest. The other deputies advised me Corri did not say much in regard to the physical altercation that took place between [VICTIM #1] and him.

Pictures of [VICTIM #1]’s injuries were taken on my department-issued body-worn camera. [VICTIM #1] was given a ride to where the traffic stop was to pick up their car so it wouldn’t be towed.

Corri was placed under arrest in handcuffs to the rear. Corri was placed in the rear of a patrol vehicle and transported to the Bartow County Jail. Corri was turned over to the jail staff without further incident. Warrants for Corri’s arrest have been secured at this time.
