On August 19th, 2026 I responded to 207 East Felton Road in the area of Oak Hill Insurance to speak to Complainant in reference to a suspicious male Mr. Jefferson Wilson.
Complainant stated Mr. Wilson was walking back and forth in the parking lot looking at him taking a knife out of its sheath holding it up in the air and bringing it back down swinging it around and was concerned for the safety of the customers and himself not knowing what Mr. Wilson was doing with the knife out like that.
When I made contact with Mr. Wilson he had the knife hanging off a string on his body. He stated he was looking for a ride to the Waffle House and appeared to be having mental issues talking to himself. Based off of witness testimony and Mr Wilson having the knife swinging around his body I felt I had probable cause to arrest. Mr. Wilson was arrested with both hands behind his back double locked and checked for fit. Mr. Wilson was searched incident search to arrest and escorted and placed in the rear of my marked patrol vehicle.
He was transported to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office without incident and turned over to jail staff. I checked the rear seat of my marked patrol vehicle and located no contraband. An arrest warrant for disorderly conduct was obtained for Mr. Wilson, warrant number CE-0182971. The knife was placed into evidence at the Cartersville Police Department.
