On Thursday, May 15, 2025 at approximately 1030 hours I was dispatched to Hooters on 877 Joe Frank Harris Parkway for property damage. The call stated a Mr. Justin Buxton, a white male wearing a Hooters uniform just slashed the tires of the vehicle belonging to Victim 1 and fled to the Ingles parking lot. Upon arrival I made contact with a white male in a Hooters uniform passed out at a table in front of Ingles. I woke the male up and he identified himself as Justin Buxton. Mr. Buxton was detained while I met with Victim 1.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated he terminated the employment of Mr. Buxton after he was caught drinking on duty. Victim 1 addressed the issue with Mr. Buxton and Mr. Buxton threatened to slap Mr. [VICTIM #1] in the face, hit Victim 1 and kick Victim 1 a*s along with other threats. Victim 1 terminated Mr. Buxton. As Mr. Buxton was leaving Hooters he stole a kitchen knife worth $70.00 dollars, exited the business and proceeded to slice Victim 1 drivers side tires on his gray Hyundai Tuscon, GA tag #[REDACTED].

I spoke with a Mr. [WITNESS #1] who is an employee at Hooters. Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated he was the first one to notice Mr. Buxton drinking and brought it to Victim 1 attention. Mr. [WITNESS #1] was present when the threats were made and he saw Mr. Buxton steal the knife and slash the tires. Victim 1 was able to provide video of the tires being slashed and wished to press charges for the property damage, threats and theft of the knife.

Mr. Buxton was placed under arrest by placing his hands behind his back and cuffing them. The handcuffs were checked for a safe fit and double locked for security. A search of Mr. Buxton’s person was done and no illegal contraband was found. Mr. Buxton was found to have an open and nearly empty container of fireball on his person. When searching Mr. Buxton he was very unsteady and had a hard time standing. Mr. Buxton was cussing and acting obnoxious. Mr. Buxton was placed in the back seat of aagency issued marked patrol car and transported to the Bartow County jail were he was turned over to the custody of the jail staff. A search of the agency issued marked patrol car was performed before and after transport and no illegal contraband was found.

The knife Mr. Buxton stole and used to do the property damage was entered into evidence locker #004 at the Cartersville Police Department.

Mr. Buxton’s phone was later found at Hooters and turned over to personal property at the Cartersville Police Department.

Warrants were taken for Criminal damage 2nd, terrorist threats and acts, disorderly conduct and misdeem theft.

Photo’s of the vehicle damage were taken on my agency issued BWC. All media available through Polaris. The video of Mr. Buxton slashing the tires was uploaded to Polaris.
