On Saturday, September 3, 2022 at approximately 0009 hours while in the area of [200 BLOCK] Cassville Rd I was flagged down by a homeless male subject later identified as Mr. [WITNESS #1]. Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated that his mother, Ms. Kimberly Pollard, who is also homeless just set fire to the woods. Upon entering the woods I observed a small fire to a cardboard box that was spreading to the surrounding grass.

Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated that his mother was very intoxicated and acting crazy. Mr. [WITNESS #1] explained that Ms. Pollard had been drinking all day, and that she had just started a fire in the woods. Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated that Ms. Pollard advised she wanted to burn the whole woods down. I then spoke with Ms. [WITNESS #2], another homeless female who stays in the woods at the above address.

Ms. [WITNESS #2] stated that she seen Ms. Pollard set fire to the woods using a lighter. Ms. [WITNESS #2] stated that Ms. Pollard was drinking all day, and that she was acting crazy. Ms. [WITNESS #2] stated that Ms. Pollard stated that she wanted to burn the whole woods down. Contact was then made with Ms. Pollard.

Ms. Pollard stated that she did not set the fire, and that it was set by another female that wasn’t currently there. Ms. Pollard stated that Mr. [WITNESS #1] and Ms. [WITNESS #2] were lying about her setting the fire. Ms. Pollard was unsteady on her feet and had difficulty standing still. I could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Ms. Pollards breath. I asked Ms. Pollard if she had been drinking, and she stated that she had a few.

At this time, Ms. Pollard was placed into handcuffs behind the back, checked for fit, and double locked for safety. Ms. Pollard was searched incident to arrest with no contraband found. Ms. Pollard was placed into the rear of my patrol vehicle, and transported to the Bartow County Jail without incident. My patrol vehicle was searched before and after transport with no contraband found.

Contact was made with [REDACTED] by phone who is the manager at Cartersville Storage center. The wooded area that Ms. Pollard set on fire is owned by Cartersville Storage Center. Mr. [REDACTED] advised that he wished to press charges for this incident.

Warrants were obtained for Arson 3rd Degree (warrant# CE-0155363) and Public Drunk (warrant#CE-0155362). Warrants will be attached to this case file.
