On Sunday May 10th, 2026, I, Deputy Erceg was dispatched to [4000 BLOCK] Bowman Blvd. Apt. [REDACTED] in Macon Bibb County GA in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival I knocked on the door of apartment [REDACTED]. The resident advised me to open the door and come in. Upon entering the apartment, I saw the victim, [VICTIM #1], lying on the living room floor. She stated she could not get up off the floor due to her age and health. I then helped lift [VICTIM #1] off the ground to her chair. [VICTIM #1] said that her niece, Ms. Amelita Steele, had come over to cook dinner. She said that Ms. Steele got upset because [VICTIM #1]’s sister, [REDACTED], had hung up the phone on Ms. Steele. [VICTIM #1] said Ms. Steele got in her face cursing and [VICTIM #1] told her to stop. She said she called 911 and Ms. Steele snatched [VICTIM #1]’s phone and went into the utility room. [VICTIM #1] stated she went to get her phone back and she grabbed Ms. Steele’s hair and they got to “tussling” and Ms. Steele bit her. [VICTIM #1] said Ms. Steele said to let go and [VICTIM #1] did once she got her phone. She said that Ms. Steele then began hitting [VICTIM #1] in the face while she was sitting on the couch. She said that she then was headed toward the bathroom telling Ms. Steele to leave, when Ms. Steele pushed [VICTIM #1] down to the floor where I had originally located [VICTIM #1]. Ms. Steele had left prior to my arrival. [VICTIM #1] did not know where Ms. Steele is living, what kind of car she drives, or a telephone number for her. She said she just showed up to cook.
I did see a large knot above [VICTIM #1]’s left eye. I also saw some busted blood vessels in the corner of [VICTIM #1]’s left eye as well as a small scratch on her nose. [VICTIM #1] declined EMS due to the cost.
I provided [VICTIM #1] with a case card. Warrants will be taken for Ms. Steele.
