On August 13, 1926, around 0727, I, Cpl. Vonderhuevel responded to a possible burglary in progress at [200 BLOCK] Pittman St.

Upon arrival, contact was attempted with the suspect. The suspect fled on foot, and after being told multiple times to stop, he was apprehended near the intersection of Hollyway St and Waterville Rd. During the pursuit, the subject was seen throwing two large metal items consistent with being machetes. Contact with the items was attempted to be made but could not be made in the large grass- and trash-filled area.

The subject was detained after falling during the pursuit and walked back to the incident location. The subject identified himself as Aswan Wilson. Wilson stated the residence was that of his deceased grandfather and that the grandfather was buried in the backyard. No contact was made with a grave.

Upon making contact with [WITNESS #1] (caller), who checks on the house every morning, it was learned that, upon using his key, he realized the back door had been barricaded. Upon pushing the door open, [WITNESS #1] described Wilson as coming running out the door with two machetes. [WITNESS #1] stated he retreated to the front of the residence while Wilson ran to the backyard.

I then spoke with [VICTIM #1], who is the property owner. [VICTIM #1] stated he does not know Wilson, nor did he have any permission to be in the residence.

[WITNESS #1] stated nothing from the house was damaged or missing and only believed Wilson made entry to attempt to sleep.

Wilson was transported to Atrium MED Center for a minor laceration caused when he fell in the roadway. After being medically cleared, he was transported to the Bibb LEC, where he was booked on active warrants as well as the two charges above from this incident.

No bodycam footage was able to capture this incident due to it being in the process of charging and downloading, as I was supposed to be going to a prior scheduled commitment.
