On September 20, 2025 at approximately 1757hrs I, Cpl. J. Holmes was dispatched to [1500 BLOCK] Hurley Cir in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon my arrival, I met with [VICTIM #1] who stated that she and her child’s father, Brandon Mills had an arguement as they normally do. She stated that they frequently have verbal altercations, but nothing physical although she did mention that Mills recently hit her on the head causing a concussion. [VICTIM #1] stated that today after arguing with Mills, he went out of the back door, came back in the house, packed his belongings and a bag of food. [VICTIM #1] stated that she attempted to grab the bag of food from Mills while telling him that he was not about to take any food out of the house with him. After reaching for the bag twice and missing each time, [VICTIM #1] states that Mills hit her on the head with his handgun and left the house.
When I met with [VICTIM #1], she had clearly visible signs of injury. She had a moderate laceration and swelling on the top/right side of her head where she was hit by Mills’ handgun. [VICTIM #1] also had blood running from her head injury over the right side of her head and the front of her shirt.
Atrium EMS responded to the residence and transported [VICTIM #1] to Atrium ER for further medical treatment.
[VICTIM #1] was given a crime victim rights pamphlet with the associated case number and reporting deputy’s information. She was also advised of services provided through the Crisis Line & Safe House for victim’s of domestic violence.
Warrant pending for Mills in reference to Aggravated Assault.
