On February 25, at approximately 22:49 hours, I, Deputy F. Gray, was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Lucille Driskell Drive regarding a domestic disturbance. While en route, the caller informed me that her child’s father had beaten her son, and the male involved claimed that the child’s mother had cut him in the face with a knife.

Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant, Ms. [WITNESS #1], outside the residence, along with her 14-year-old son, Mr. [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated that her child’s father, Mr. Carey Watts, had locked the door and that she had a key to unlock it. Ms. [WITNESS #1] used her key to unlock the door, and I, along with other deputies, entered the residence. As we walked through the front of the house, I observed trash scattered all over the floor. We then made contact with Mr. Watts in the bathroom, where he was taken into custody. Mr. Watts had two lacerations on his face, which he claimed were from being cut by his child’s mother, but he did not wish to answer any questions.

Later, I spoke with Ms. [WITNESS #1] and her son, Mr. [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. According to Ms. [WITNESS #1], Mr. Watts was asleep when her son woke him up. Mr. Watts allegedly responded with, “What is the fu*k you want?” to which her son requested his phone. After asking for the phone back, Mr. Watts reportedly spit in her son’s face and then pushed him, leading to a fight between them. Ms. [WITNESS #1] instructed her son to go to the car. As he walked away, Mr. Watts followed him outside and punched him in the face. Ms. [WITNESS #1] intervened using a set of keys that she had in her hand, which accidentally led to her cutting Mr. Watts in the face.

Ms. [WITNESS #1] explained that the fight began because Mr. Watts had picked up the wrong cellphone; her son’s phone was similar in appearance to Mr. Watts’ phone. After the altercation, Mr. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a small laceration on his top left eyelid. Community Ambulance was notified and responded to the scene to check on both parties. All occupants reside in the same household. Mr. Watts was later transported to the Bibb County LEC.
