On Sunday, March 1, 2026, at approximately 1142 hours, I, Deputy Baltimore, was dispatched to [2500 BLOCK] Millerfield Rd, in reference to assault.

I made contact with the victim, Mr. [VICTIM #1], at Piedmont Hospital Emergency Room, and he stated that his child’s mother cut him on his hands with a butcher knife.

He stated the argument started last night, when she went through his phone. Due to her being upset, she then damaged his phone when she slammed it on the ground, causing the screen to crack.

When he woke up this morning, she still wanted to argue about the phone. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that she became irate and aggressive. She held his shirt and punched him in his mouth multiple times, causing it to bleed.

She then went into the kitchen, got a butcher knife, and followed him around the house with it while swinging it at him. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that she realized he was not trying to fight her, she lunged at him with the knife, and he tried to block it, but it cut across his 2 middle fingers on his left hand, requiring him to get treated at the hospital and get stitches.

Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated their 1-year-old child was in the home at the time, but she was not downstairs during the altercation. He then stated he had to run outside to a neighbor’s house and tell them to call 911. After he waited a little while for EMS to arrive, he stated Ms. [VICTIM #1] seen all the blood that was coming out of his hand, and she took him to the hospital herself, where he was treated for his cuts.

Pictures were taken of Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s hand while in the ER. Another deputy and I then went to the resident to make contact with Ms. West, but no contact was made. Mr. [VICTIM #1] received a case card and was advised about information for protection.

Ms. West will have a warrant taken out for Aggravated Assault and Criminal Damage to Property in the 2nd Degree, due to the item broken being more than $500. At this time, there is no further information to report.
