On February 28, 2025, at 15:56 hours, Sergeant George Witherspoon responded to a disturbance at Best Buy, located at 4676 Presidential Parkway.
Upon arrival, store employees reported that a male subject entered the store, shouted profanities, and acted aggressively toward them. He then kicked over a merchandise display valued at approximately $120 and stated that if he wanted anything from the store, he would “take it” and they wouldn’t be anything they could do to stop him. As additional employees gathered out of concern for the store manager’s safety, the subject was asked to leave. He initially refused but, exited when employees stated they were calling 9-1-1. Once outside, he continued yelling profanities, making hand gestures, throwing up possible gang signs, and mimicking the action of firing a gun at employees.
This subject, later identified as Marcus Talton, was located at a nearby Kroger grocery store and was taken into custody. He was transported to the Bibb County LEC for detention and processing.
