On August 7th, 2026 at approximately 1355 hours, I responded in non-emergency mode to 2040 Ingleside Avenue in reference to a Hit and Run at the bank property. When I arrived on scene, I activated my body-worn camera and contacted the victim, Mr. [VICTIM #1].

Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated, he was inside the bank and when he exited, he noticed the damage to the rear driver corner of his vehicle. Mr. [VICTIM #1] was provided a case number.

I contacted the bank representative and she was able to provide me with the camera footage for the bank. In the video, you can see a black male subject exit the bank and talk to someone on the side walk. Shortly after, he gets in his vehicle and begins to leave. The subject turned his wheel to early and struck the rear driver side of the victim’s truck. The driver then stopped, pulled forward and turned the wheel sharper, striking the truck again and fleeing the scene of the accident.

The bank recognized the subject and provided the suspect’s name Rexford Wallace. They advised he worked for Bibb County BOE.

I contacted Cpt. Bellemy with the Bibb County BOE PD. He stated that the male subject worked for Vineville Academy as a Janitor. I went by the school and contacted the suspect. He claimed he did not know he hit anyone. After checking his car, he had visible damage to the front passenger tire/bumper area.

Mr. Wallace was escorted outside of the school, away from students before being searched and arrested. He was handcuffed in the front, double-locked and checked for fit. He was secured in the front seat of my patrol car without issue. He was transported to the Bibb County LEC on the following.
