While working an off-duty security at B&T’s Food Fresh Market, located at 1425 Rocky Creek Rd Macon,GA. I observed the accused did shoplift several items valued at approximately $36.45 and conceal merchandise inside her pocketbook. When Sgt.Sampson attempted to place the accused under arrest, she actively resisted and physically fought with him. During the struggle, Sgt. Sampson sustained injuries to the palm of his right hand and both knees. The accused was struck and deployed with Taser 10 at least twice. The expended cartridges were identified as T2553M91A, T2553M91F, and T2553M92T. A Use of Force form was completed regarding the incident.
Sgt. Sampson was treated at the scene for his injuries. The accused was also evaluated by emergency medical personnel from Atrium Health Ambulance Service. During the struggle, the accused stated that she had HIV and repeatedly attempted to bite Sgt. Sampson while threatening to transmit the virus to him. The accused was taken into custody and charged with Theft by Shoplifting, Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer, and Terroristic Threats against Law Enforcement Officer.
