On Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 0846 hrs., I was dispatched to [4000 BLOCK] Mercer University Dr. (Blossom Hill Estates) in reference to a Domestic Disturbance. Upon arrival, I spoke with Ms. [VICTIM #1]. She stated that when she arrived at her cousin [WITNESS #1]’s apartment, her ex-boyfriend, Martell Knight approached her and stated that he wanted to talk to her. She stated that she told him that she will talk after she takes her son, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to school. She stated that he got very aggressive so she ran upstairs to apartment [REDACTED] and locked the door behind her. She stated that Martell kicked the door open, pointed a gun at her and asked for her keys. She stated that after she did not give him the keys, he began to hit her in her head with the gun. [WITNESS #1] stated that she pointed her gun at Martell but put it down after he pointed his gun toward [VICTIM #1]’s head.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that after being hit in the head several times, she gave Martell the keys. She stated that the gun looked like a revolver with a long barrel. One bullet was found on scene that she said fell out of his pocket. Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s son was present during this incident. Mr. Knight drove away in Ms. [VICTIM #1] 2007 Honda Accord, gray in color. The vehicle will be entered into GCIC as stolen. Ms. [VICTIM #1] was treated on scene by EMS. The one bullet will be put in the crime lab as evidence.
Due to the nature of this incident, I made contact with a Person Investigator. Upon Investigator Tony Moss arrival, the case was turned over to him. Ms. [VICTIM #1] was given a case number for this incident.
