The following was taken from a press release distributed by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on May 8, 2024:

BIBB COUNTY, Ga. – A Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.R.T. Unit deputy recently initiated a traffic stop on the driver of a dirt bike, traveling at a high rate of speed in traffic with no helmet or taillights on Ell Street. The driver refused to stop, increased his speed, ran a stop sign, and drove on the wrong side of the road until losing control and ultimately crashing on Jeff Davis Street.

The dirt bike driver then tried to run away and was tased by deputies. The 39-year-old male was wanted on a Bibb County failure to appear bench warrant for driving on a suspended license and a warrant from a neighboring county regarding leaving the scene of an accident and failure to yield.

The man was transported without further incident to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center.
