On 06/29/2026 at approximatley 2104 hours I was driving east bound on Ga highway 520 when I observed a Silver passenger car Ga Tag [REDACTED] with a rear taillight out. I ran the tag through Dispatch and they advised GCIC showed that it had no valid insurance. Using my emergency equitment I initated a traffic stop.
I made contact with the driver who indenitifed himself as Mr David Geiger DOB of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] 1972 but he had to think of the birthdate. The vehicle was registered to a Michael Geiger ho had a suspended Drivers license. Dispatch was able to provide both pictures and I confirmed it was in fact Michael Geiger.
Trooper Harper arrived on scene and I advised him that Mr. Michael seemed unsteady on his feet but I did not smell any Alcohol but he has been known to use Drugs there was also what appeared to be a pipe in the rear passenger door used to smoke some type of substance. The Trooper performed SFST’s and determined that Mr. Geiger was impaired and unsafe to drive. Mr Geiger was read implied consent and refused a blood draw.
I transported Mr. Geiger to the Brantley County Jail and was turned over to jail staff.
