On the stated date and time I was dispatched to the residence of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Old Waynesville Road in reference to a male subject following a juvenile [JUVENILE #1] home. When I arrived on scene they informed me that the male subject was Tristan Mitchell driving a white in color Tahoe. The Complainant [WITNESS #1] stated that she believed he was under the influence of alcohol. I informed them that I would be in the area and would try and locate the vehicle.
After a few minutes I was able to locate the vehicle turning onto Mineral springs from Browntown. I then positioned myself behind the vehicle and activated my emergency lights to get the vehicle to stop. It was at this time that the vehicle accelerated and I then went in pursuit after the vehicle. After driving through the ditch on Mineral Springs the vehicle took a right onto Depot Road. The Vehicle was then boxed in by Sgt. Lee and myself and the intersection of Depot Road and Browntown Road.
I then gave the driver commands to turn the vehicle off and step out of the vehicle. After Tristan exited the vehicle I then went to him and placed him in handcuffs and under arrest. Tristan then began to ask if he could call someone to come and retrieve his vehicle so it wouldn’t be towed, it was at this time that I noticed the slurring of words and could smell the odor of alcohol coming from him as he spoke. I asked Tristan how much he had to drink tonight and he responded with “A few”. I then read implied consent to which Tristan refused. The vehicle was picked up from the scene by his wife and Tristan was transported to the Brantley County Jail.
