On July 10, 2026, at approximately 1520 hours, I (Captain H. Nunn) responded to [100 BLOCK] Taylor Road in reference to a criminal trespass complaint.
Upon arrival, I made contact with Mrs. [VICTIM #1]. Mrs. [VICTIM #1] advised that she had observed Michael Worley on her property both earlier that day and the previous day. Having had prior dealings with Worley the week before, I was already aware that he had been issued a criminal trespass warning from the property, as I was the deputy who had served the warning.
Mrs. [VICTIM #1] advised that Worley had once again entered her property, walked onto her front porch, and manipulated the handle of her front door, appearing to check whether it was unlocked. Knowing that Mrs. [VICTIM #1] had a Ring doorbell camera, I asked if I could review the recent footage. Mrs. [VICTIM #1] advised that she was unfamiliar with operating the system and gave me permission to access the footage using her cellular phone.
While reviewing the recorded video, I observed Michael Worley on Mrs. [VICTIM #1]’s property at approximately 13:43:16 hours. Based on the video evidence and my knowledge that Worley had previously been criminally trespassed from the property, I determined that he would be placed under arrest for Criminal Trespass upon locating him.
While Lieutenant Holcomb and Sergeant Allen canvassed the surrounding area in an attempt to locate Worley, I remained on scene obtaining additional information from Mrs. [VICTIM #1] for my report. A short time later, Worley walked back onto Mrs. [VICTIM #1]’s property carrying an open beer bottle and a lit cigarette. As he approached, he greeted us with slurred speech.
While making contact with Worley, I observed that he was unsteady on his feet. As I closed the distance, I further observed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery, and I detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. Based on my training and experience, I believed Worley was under the influence of alcohol.
For officer safety, I ordered Worley to place the beer bottle and cigarette on the ground. Worley initially hesitated and questioned who he was being given the commands. I repeated my lawful orders, and he complied by placing both items on the ground. I then instructed Worley to place his hands behind his back and advised him that he was under arrest for Criminal Trespass. Worley was secured in handcuffs, which were checked for proper fit and double-locked.
Throughout the arrest, Worley repeatedly asked what he had done wrong and acted as though he had committed no offense. I informed him that he was under arrest for returning to the property after having previously been criminally trespassed. Due to his continued questioning and lack of cooperation with verbal communication, I escorted him to the rear of Sergeant Allen’s marked patrol vehicle.
Worley was transported to the Butts County Sheriff’s Office without incident.
