On 11/18/25, I responded to [500 BLOCK] W. Mandeville Road in reference to a domestic with shots fired. The caller advised her daughter’s boyfriend had shot the window out of her vehicle while she was in it. She then advised it was physical between the two inside the car. Shortly after, she advised both parties had gone inside the residence and the male was still armed.

On my arrival, I was met in the driveway by [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] was hysterical and stated that Michael Idlett and Simone Phillips were in their bedroom physically fighting with their two year old son in there with them. I entered the residence and [WITNESS #1] told me the couple’s bedroom was to the left and around a corner to the right. I was not able to see the bedroom door from my position at the front door.

I instructed [WITNESS #1] for herself and anyone else in the residence to go outside, and she informed me they had a blind grandmother in the back bedroom to the right of the residence that would not be able to get out on her own. I could hear both a male and female talking quietly in the direction of the couple’s bedroom. It appeared they were both trying to be very quiet and there were no sounds of struggle.

I began calling out to the couple from the living room at gunpoint due to the possibility of Michael being armed. After a short moment, Simone came around the corner with her hands up. I moved Simone toward the front door and instructed her outside as I continued calling out to Michael. Michael then stuck both hands around the corner, and slowly moved around it where I could then see his whole person. A small child followed behind him.

Michael was compliant with my commands and was handcuffed without incident by myself and Deputy Robinson #989, and I took possession of a black in color Glock 43 (S/N BVXE896) in Michael’s right pocket. Other deputies arrived on scene and conducted a safety sweep of the residence as I escorted Simone away from the house and Deputy Robinson placed Michael in his patrol car. CID and forensics were notified.

It was determined Simone and Michael share a child together and live at this address with several other family members. Simone stated Michael had gotten mad at her in Villa Rica due to him seeing a male’s name on her phone. Simone stated they began arguing on their way home, and that sh*t had hit him inside the vehicle during the ride.

When they got home at [500 BLOCK] W. Mandeville, Simone stated Michael threatened to cheat on her, and in return she threw water at him. Simone stated they took their child inside and then continued their argument outside in the yard. Simone stated she took Michael’s phone and locked herself inside the vehicle with it, sitting in the driver’s seat. Michael then began beating on the windows of the vehicle trying to get his phone back.

Eventually, Michael pulled out a handgun and fired two rounds into the driver side rear window of the white 2022 Nissan Altima (tag #[REDACTED].) Michael then reached through the busted window to try and unlock the driver door. Simone denied any physical contact between the two; however witnesses at the house stated they observed the two fighting in the back seat. Simone stated she then got Michael’s PlayStation and busted it in the yard. The two of them went inside the residence and Michael began packing his clothes to leave.

Two shell casings were found beside the Nissan Altima. My scene photos as well as witness statements will be added to linked files. The scene was turned over to investigators on their arrival, and the firearm was turned over to Inv. Anna Garmon.

Michael Idlett was placed under arrest and charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault FVA
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of Certain Crimes
  • Criminal Damage to Property 2nd Degree FVA

Simone Phillips was placed under arrest and charged with:

  • Simple Battery FVA
  • Criminal Trespass FVA

Both were transported to the Carroll County Detention Center and turned over to jail staff without incident. Warrants are pending from CID.
