On 05/10/2026, at approximately 0119 hours, I responded to [200 BLOCK] 6th Street in reference to a dispute. Dispatch advised that a neighbor wearing a white shirt and a yellow hat was outside screaming and threatening to beat up people. Dispatch advised that another complainant from a different home reported that 7 people were arguing outside, and one just ran into a house.
I arrived, and I instantly saw a white female running up to us, saying that someone had hit her mom with a broomstick. I hear a male from [200 BLOCK] Sixth Street yelling, “Get away from our house, get away from our house!” very loudly. I saw a black male wearing a yellow hat, a white shirt, and black pants directly in front of the front door, facing the door. As officers shone our flashlights on him, he placed the green broomstick down and faced us. This male was identified as Travis Ellerbe.
Travis Ellerbe was detained in handcuffs for his aggressive behavior at the time. As we were applying handcuffs to Travis, he began to pull away from us. These handcuffs were double-locked and checked for fit. I walked Travis away from the scene, and as I did this,I could smell the odor of alcohol coming from his breath. Travis began yelling, saying others attacked him because he was talking to his family. He stated that others entered his conversation. He began yelling as I told him to lower his voice. He stated he was walking wasn’t walking across the street with a broom, but had one in his hand. Travis began shouting again at this point. I advised Travis again to lower his voice. Travis advised that someone had flattened his car’s tires.
After a brief discussion with other officers, it was determined that a physical altercation had occurred between the neighbor and Travis. The neighbor had visible red marks on her, and witnesses stated she was hit with a broom by Travis. However, the neighbor did not wish to press charges. I placed Travis Ellerbe under arrest and transported him to the Carroll County Jail, where jailers took custody of him.
