On June 13, 2026, at approximately 0436 hrs, I, Ofc Delaforce, was dispatched to [1300 BLOCK] Bradley Blvd [REDACTED], in the City of Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, in response to a domestic violence incident. The call notes described a neighbor waking up from a female screaming.

As I was driving up to the apartment building, I observed a gray Corolla starting to back out of a parking spot in front of the building. I pulled up directly behind the vehicle and the driver put the car back into “park”.

I then exited my vehicle and the victim exited from the driver’s side of the Corolla. Mr. Lee wore no shirt, had several scratches on his torso and shoulders and an actively bleeding nose. He was obviously upset and stated something to the effect of “fine, great, just take me”. I asked what was going on and he launched into an explanation consisting of how he is going to die and to “just do it”, which he repeated a few times. He then stated: “I’ll do it!” and lunged forward towards me as if to grab my gun, but because I stepped back, he was only able to reach my vest.

At this time, Ofc Langley tackled Mr. Lee to the ground where he landed on his back and I was able to cuff one of his hands. We then flipped him over and cuffed the other hand.

Mr. Lee was placed into the back of my patrol vehicle. He was still very upset and in tears. I asked him what happened and he explained that he and his girlfriend had gone out and once back home, he saw that she was sending nude photos of herself to other men on her phone. When he confronted her about it, she started yelling at him, he grabbed her by the shoulders and pushed her back into a bean bag while demanding an explanation for her infidelity.

He stated that she jumped up and started punching him in the face repeatedly, attacking him incessantly. He stated she pulled his hair out by chunks, so he pulled her hair. He also told me that she did not have any of her own hair and that it was fake hair because she regularly pulled out her own hair. Mr. Lee stated that he was bipolar and took his medicines daily.

While EMS was examining him, I observed two other quarter-size knots on his upper forehead, where he stated he had been punched. His cheek was swelling up, there was blood from his nose and around his lips. I also observed what appeared to be a healing scar on his right inner bicep close to his armpit in the perfect shape of a dental imprint of almost a complete set of teeth. He stated that the suspect, Ms. Carpenter had done this a month ago.

He also had stitches on his head where he had been to the ER from Ms. Carpenter headbutting him which split his scalp open. Mr. Lee also had two lengthy scratch marks horizontally on the side of his neck, along with several scratches on his back, one 5-inch scratch on his right shoulder.

I then spoke to Ms. Carpenter who was not very forthcoming. I asked to see the extent of her injuries and she eventually grudgingly stood up. I was only able to see one fresh injury (she admitted to being a “cutter” and had multiple scars on her thighs and arms from self-inflicted wounds), which was to her knee. It was an open wound about 3/4 of an inch in diameter and perfectly circular.

She did not show me any other injuries or make any other statements. Other officers spoke with her and may have more information. I returned to the victim and asked how Ms. Carpenter hurt her knee. He replied “That’s from before and her scab came off”. Sgt McCooley was called as well as Detective Purdee. Mr. Lee was arrested under OCGA 16-10-33(b) for attempting to remove my firearm.
