On 08/12/22 at 18:16 hours, I responded to [300 BLOCK] Noble Oaks Dr #[REDACTED], in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, I made contact with the victim ([VICTIM #1]) and the witness ([WITNESS #1]). Both parties pointed toward the fence and mentioned that the suspect (Courtland Perry) ran in that direction. I ran and canvassed the areas, but I did not locate him. Mr. [WITNESS #1] and Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated Mr. Courtland left the house wearing a gray pants and red and white sneakers. He was shirtless and had a black plastic bag with a Machete and brown sawed-off Shotgun.
I asked the victim, Ms. [VICTIM #1] if he stabbed or cut her, but she said “no.” She showed me a minor scratch on her neck, so I asked her if she needed EMS, which she refused. The responding officer canvassed the areas on Noble Oaks, but they did not locate Mr. Courtland. They also canvassed the area of 111 Linden. Dr; however, he normally visits this location.
Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated the dispute between Ms. [VICTIM #1] and her brother Mr. Courtland started because she asked him about the dirty dishes in the sink. When she asked him to wash the dishes he said he would bust her in her sh*t (punch in her face) Ms. [VICTIM #1] told Mr. Courtland that you are not going to disrespect me in my house; however, during the verbal altercation he walked to the bedroom for a huge knife (Machete) and attempted to stab Ms. [VICTIM #1] with it.
Mr. [WITNESS #1] explained that he had to step in between them and at one point Mr. Courtland pulled away from him and raised the Machete toward Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s stomach. Mr. Courtland then used his left hand and placed it against Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s neck and swung the Machete repeatedly towards her stomach. Mr. [WITNESS #1] stated he stepped in again and pulled him away again and that’s when Ms. [VICTIM #1] walked outside and called the police.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised she asked [Mr]. Courtland about the dirty dishes in the sink and he became angry. She explained that he got upset and told her that he was going to punch her in her face. Therefore, she told him that he was in her house and he should leave. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated he got angrier and called her a b*tch and pushed her around. Ms. [VICTIM #1] indicated he walked to the bedroom, then attacked her with a huge Machete in the living room. She advised he pushed her in her chest, pinned her against the door and swung the Machete at her stomach repeatedly. While he swung the Machete he yelled, “I am going to kill you.”
Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised she thought he was going to stab and kill her. He pinned her against the living room door for 15 to 20 seconds. At this point Mr. [WITNESS #1] stepped between them and pulled Mr. Courtland away. Mr. [WITNESS #1] was not able to take the Machete away from him; however, Ms. [VICTIM #1] walked outside and contacted the police. While Mr. [WITNESS #1] and Ms. [VICTIM #1] were waiting on the police Mr. Courtland mentioned that he would kill her if the cops show up. Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised Mr. Courtland has been staying at her house since Monday 08/08/22. She usually allows him to stay at her house and he also has clothes and personal belongings there.
Aggravated assault detectives and on duty supervisor were on scene. The Fire Department and EMS were on scene. Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. [WITNESS #1] refused treatment. I gave Ms. [VICTIM #1] a copy of the CRN and explained how to obtain the report. She remained on scene; however, I told her to dial 911 if her brother shows up.
