While on uniform patrol in the City of Port Wentworth, Chatham County, I was dispatched to a report of shots fired at 7001 SR-21, specifically in the area of the Pilot Travel Center/McDonald’s.
On November 17, 2025, dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting that a physical altercation had occurred inside the McDonald’s, followed by gunfire. Witnesses stated that a fight broke out between several individuals, during which at least one subject discharged a firearm.
Upon my arrival, I immediately secured the scene, ensured the safety of bystanders, and maintained the area until additional units arrived to assist with crowd control, scene security, and further investigation.
