On June 16th 2026, at approximately 1220 hours, I Deputy J. Claxton was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Railroad Circle in reference to a domestic, I responded code 3 (lights and sirens).
When myself and Deputy Garmany arrived on scene we separated both parties, I advised the female later identified as (April Shaw) to get out of the camper and come speak to me, she then stated nothing happened and she would not come speak to me, I then advised her to come talk to me once again, I then noticed she was walking fast towards a fence line, I yelled at April telling her “Don’t you run from me”, at that time Mrs. Shaw jumped the fence and began to flee on foot into the woodline. I then began chasing her giving her loud verbal commands to stop running, she refused my lawful commands where she continued running towards a set of railroad tracks.
We then crossed through a yard on Back Penn Road where she continued fleeing, a male subject then stopped and asked if that female was running from me and asked if he could help and I stated yes. The male then drove towards her, cut her off and held her until I got to her, I then placed her under arrest at [200 BLOCK] Back Penn Road, Deputy Durham then arrived on scene and transported her to the Chattooga County Jail without further incident.
I then walked back to [100 BLOCK] Railroad Circle where I spoke with the male party involved in the domestic whom was identified as Douglas Payne, I then advised him that he was under arrest as well for Disorderly Conduct due to the fact it was called in by a third party about the disturbance, I also advised him that there had been 6 domestic related calls since March 3rd, 2026 involving he and Ms. Shaw.
I will be charging Apirl Shaw with misdermeanor obstruction x2 and Disorderly Conduct.
I will be charging Douglas Payne with Disorderly Conduct.
