On 05/08/2026, I responded to a domestic disturbance call at [REDACTED]. Upon arrival, I made contact with the victim, [VICTIM #1], who stated that her ex-boyfriend, John Trammel, became upset over allegations that her children were being disrespectful toward him. The victim advised the offender that if he felt the children were a problem, he could leave the residence.
While gathering his belongings, the offender intentionally damaged a window air conditioning unit located in the master bedroom and also broke the bedroom window. The offender left the scene prior to law enforcement arrival and was unable to be located at that time.
At approximately 2228 hours, the offender returned to the residence. Upon arriving back on scene, I observed the offender attempting to flee through the wooded area behind the property. I issued several verbal commands for the offender to stop; however, he refused to comply. After entering the wooded area, I located the offender lying on the ground attempting to conceal himself in brush. I gave the offender multiple commands to stand up, which he refused. I then proceeded to physically remove the offender from the wooded area. Unit 119, who was on scene assisting, aided in attempting to place the offender into handcuffs.
During the arrest, the offender actively resisted by pulling away multiple times. Due to his continued resistance, officers placed the offender on the ground in an attempt to gain control. While on the ground, the offender attempted to strike me in the face with his fist. Officers continued efforts to secure the offender in handcuffs and advised him that if he continued resisting, he would be tased. At that time, the offender complied and was successfully taken into custody.
The offender was transported to the Chattooga County Jail and charged with the following offenses:
- 2 Counts of Felony Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer
- 2 Counts of Misdemeanor Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer
- 3 Counts of Cruelty to Children
- Criminal Damage to Property (FVA)
