On March 26, 2025 I was dispatched to a possible theft at [100 BLOCK] Priestwood LN, at 10:17 AM. Upon arriving on scene, I made contact with the complainant, later identified as [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] was the on-site project manager for the day. [REDACTED], who is the project manager and has been mentioned in reports regarding this housing development in the past, was on vacation.
[WITNESS #1] informed me copper wires, valued at $1,500 to $2,000, were stolen from lot [REDACTED]. [WITNESS #1] stated he was informed of the missing copper wires on March 26, at 9:30 AM. [WITNESS #1] stated [REDACTED] knew the copper wires were still in the residence sometime during the day on March 25.
[WITNESS #1] escorted me to lot [REDACTED] to show me where the wires were cut. Upon walking through the residence, I was able to observe multiple sections in which copper wires had been cut and removed. I asked [WITNESS #1] if [REDACTED] had any update on the camera system located at the entrance of the development from the last time I spoke with [REDACTED] (SO25-003556). [WITNESS #1] stated he would be contacting his company shortly after to inquire about possible camera footage.
At approximately 2:20 PM, I received a phone call request from another project manager who stated he found where some of the copper wire was being stripped and dumped. Across the street from the project, there is a dirt driveway blocked off by a yellow chained gate. He stated a knife, accompanied by the material stripped away from the copper wire, was found in the wooded area. I investigated the wooded area and found an abundance of stripped material, along with the knife he identified. Pictures were taken of the area and uploaded via Axon Capture.
