I responded to a domestic at the listed address. I spoke to Mrs. [VICTIM #1], who stated that while lying in bed, she and her husband, Mr. Annis, got into a verbal altercation over the phone volume that escalated rapidly. She stated he got in her face when she pushed him back. Mrs. [VICTIM #1] stated Mr. Annis then grabbed an unloaded 9MM handgun, pointed it at her, and pulled the trigger three times. Mrs. [VICTIM #1] became scared and grabbed a metal water bottle to throw at him when Mr. Annis then loaded a magazine and charged the weapon in front of her, ordering her to drop the bottle. Mrs. [VICTIM #1] dropped the bottle and ran out of her trailer, hid in her neighbor’s trailer, and called 911.
I then spoke to Mr. Annis, who stated they had been arguing for a while, and she was punching and hitting him. He admitted to pointing the gun at Mrs. [VICTIM #1] for self-defense in case she threw the metal bottle. I did not see any bruising from any strike. Mr. Annis stated the gun he pointed at his wife was her gun, which was in his vehicle upon my arrival.
I recovered the handgun from Mr. Annis’s vehicle and turned it over to Mrs. [VICTIM #1] on Property Receipt number P84274. Pictures of the gun were uploaded to the evidence drive under this case number. Mr. Annis was placed in custody at 5:19 PM and transported to CCDC for aggravated assault. I obtained a warrant from Judge Morgan.
