On February 27, 2022, I DS Anduha 40 Fischer Crossings Rd (Costco) in reference to a theft.
Upon my arrival, I made contact with [WITNESS #1], DOB: [REDACTED], who is the loss prevention specialist for Costco. [WITNESS #1] informed me that a male wearing a blue jacket, blue hat and dark colored pants attempted to exit the store twice without paying for an item.
[WITNESS #1] and the assistant general manager, [WITNESS #2] DOB: [REDACTED], followed the subject who I later identified as Hector Sanchez, DOB: [REDACTED]. [WITNESS #1] informed me that Hector attempted to conceal a Bose Soundlink Mini 3 Bluetooth speaker ($179.99) underneath bags of a dog food.
[WITNESS #1] stated that when Hector attempted to pay for the items the clerk found the speaker and informed him that he would need to pay for the item. Hector paid for the item. Before leaving the store, he managed to get through a shutdown register lane and went to the electronic devices section.
[WITNESS #1] stated that Hector concealed the Bluetooth speaker that was already purchased, back under the dog food and grabbed another Bose Soundlink Mini 3 and placed it on top of the items on his cart. [WITNESS #1] continued stating that Hector then attempted to exit the store, where he was stopped. [WITNESS #1] and [WITNESS #2] stated that this is not the first time Hector has stolen from this location, but the first time that he was caught in the act.
Audio and video was captured on my BWC.
