On 06/28/2026 at approximately 02:38am, I (Ofc M Smith) responded to the area of Sewell Rd near the intersection of Armory Rd, Newnan, GA 30263 in reference to a motor vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, I observed that a gray Ford Focus exited the south side of the roadway and struck a utility pole causing extensive damage. I made contact with the driver, identified as Jameria Traylor, and asked if she could explain what happened. Traylor advised that she was traveling west on Sewell Rd through a curve approximately 1000 feet before the intersection of Armory Rd. Traylor advised she was going too fast through the curve and lost control of the vehicle, causing her to crossed the double yellow line and fog line before exiting the left side of the roadway.

Due to the severity of the accident, I had Traylor sit down along the side of the roadway while waiting for EMS to arrive. I walked the accident scene and observed that there were present skid marks that were approximately 250 feet long that lead to where the vehicle exited the roadway. The vehicle continued down an embankment that was approximately 15 feet tall before impacting the ground. The vehicle continued on to strike a utility pole at the location with enough force to completely break the pole before the vehicle came to a stop.

I checked the seat belt in the vehicle and found that it was not locked out with the rest of the safety features that were deployed, indicating that Traylor was not wearing her seat belt. I also spoke with EMS who advised that Traylor did not have any marks or injuries that would suggest that she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

After completing a walkthrough of the scene and gathering necessary information, it was brought to my attention that Traylor advised she was drinking before she drove. To prevent any delay in medical care, I met medic 1 at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] where I spoke further with Traylor. While speaking with Traylor, I asked her how much she had to drink before driving and she shrugged her shoulders, implying that she did not know how much she had.

Due to the nature of the accident and the knowledge that Traylor was under the legal age for alcohol consumption (18 years old), I advised Traylor that she was going to be charged for DUI and read he Georgia’s Implied Consent Notice for Suspects Under Age of 21 and requested a blood sample which Traylor agreed to provide. [REDACTED] (EMS Personnel) was able to complete a blood draw. After the blood sample was collected, it was secured in the box provided and later turned in to evidence to be submitted for testing.

I completed citations for DUI, Too Fast For Conditions, Failure to Maintain Lane, and Safety Belt Violation. I explained the citations to Traylor and she advised that she understood and signed each citation. Due to the nature of the charges and need for medical attention, I released Traylor on a copy of the charges. I completed an Acknowledgement Form and explained the conditions to Traylor and she advised that she understood the conditions before signing.

Traylor’s vehicle was removed from the scene by Parker’s Towing.
