Officer’s Narrative:

On 07/23/2026 at approximately 0700 hours, I responded to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] for a family dispute.

Upon arrival, I met with the witness [WITNESS #1], who stated that her son (Mardo Elder Jr) and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were downstairs in the basement, and Mardo Elder Jr was on top of him, choking [REDACTED BY AGENCY] out. [WITNESS #1] advised that she thinks her son is drunk or under the influence of drugs.

As I walked down the stairs, I could hear [REDACTED BY AGENCY] tell Mardo Jr to get off of him. When I walked into the room that was located on the right at the bottom of the stairs, I saw Mardo Jr on top of his father, choking him. I then pulled out my taser and started giving Mardo Jr commands. Mardo Jr then got off his father, and then I advised him to turn around and put his arms behind his back. Mardo Jr was then detained without incident. Mardo was placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle at that time, and EMS was called to the scene.

I then went to the father [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and started to receive a statement from him. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] advised that around 6 am this morning, he and [WITNESS #1] were woken up by Mardo Jr. slamming doors and throwing items at the wall, then busting out the window inside of his room. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then advised his wife, [WITNESS #1], to get dressed so they could leave the house so the problem would not escalate.

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that he went downstairs to the basement to get ready, and that’s when Mardo Jr. went outside with a metal chair, walked over to his work van, and started striking the front windshield with the chair, causing the windshield to shatter. Then he walked over to the Kia Sorento and started striking it with the metal chair, causing that windshield to shatter. After Mardo Jr. ran back inside the residence, he went to his room and grabbed a glass liquor bottle then went downstairs and started attacking him. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that Mardo Jr started striking him with the glass bottle and struck him on top of the head with the bottle, causing the top of his head to swell up. That’s when Mardo Jr took [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to the ground, got on top of him, and started choking him out.

After receiving [REDACTED BY AGENCY] statement, I then started to receive [WITNESS #1]’s statement. [WITNESS #1] advised that Mardo Jr. woke her and her husband up by throwing items around in his room. She then heard something shatter, but did not know what was broken at that time. Her husband, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] then advised her to get dressed so they could leave. He went downstairs to get dressed, and then Mardo Jr went outside. She went to the front door to see what Mardo was doing.

She witnessed Mardo Jr. damage both vehicles’ windshields, run back inside the residence to his room, and come back out with a glass liquor bottle. Mardo then stated to [WITNESS #1] that he did not want to hurt her, but he was looking for her husband. Mardo Jr. then ran downstairs to the basement and located [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that’s when [WITNESS #1] decided to call 911.

After receiving both statements from each party, I then started taking pictures of the damage and the injury [REDACTED BY AGENCY] sustained. The pictures will be uploaded to Axon Capture.

I was able to read Mardo Jr his Miranda rights, and he was willing to talk. Mardo Jr stated that early this morning (07/23/2026), he had a bottle of liquor delivered from Uber Eats to his residence and was drinking it because today is his off day. He advised that a year and a half ago, he was released from the [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. When he returned to the residence, his bed and mattress was gone, and his father replaced them with a sleeping cot. This morning, the cot broke, so that’s what caused the problem, plus he had been drinking.

Mardo Elder Jr was placed under arrest. The subject was then transported and turned over to the Coweta County Jail on charges. (2607001003). Both [WITNESS #1] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were handed a victim notification form and an official statement form to fill out.
