On 08/17/2026, I responded to a reported fight in progress at [REDACTED BY AGENCY].
Upon arrival, I made contact with the involved parties and conducted separate interviews regarding the incident. The 911 call described a black male shirtless that was on top of a female in the parking lot hitting her.
The victim stated that while she and the offender were sitting inside a vehicle, the offender began arguing with her about a previous relationship. During the argument, the offender allegedly grabbed the victim by the throat. The victim stated she then exited the vehicle and began walking toward her residence in an attempt to separate herself from the situation and go to bed.
The victim advised that the offender walked towards her while she was exiting her car. As the offender approached her, she pushed him away in an attempt to create distance between them. The victim stated that the offender then grabbed her and struck her with his fist. She further stated that the offender scratched her during the altercation. I observed visible scratches on the victim that were consistent with her account of the incident.
I then made contact with the offender and advised him of the allegations. The offender stated that he and the victim had been involved in a verbal argument but denied that the incident ever became physical. The offender denied grabbing, striking, or otherwise assaulting the victim.
Based on the victim’s statement, the visible injuries observed, and the totality of the circumstances, probable cause was established that the offender committed an act of family violence battery against the victim. The victim also stated that they did live together and had been in a romatic relationship for 3 years.
The victim was then given a victim notification form to fill out, which was then given back to deputies.
