On May 15, 2023 at approximately 0642 hours, Decatur County Deputies were dispatched to the address of [200 BLOCK] Hales Landing Road in reference to a domestic in progress. Upon arrival, Sergeant Jordan Phillips made contact with the offender, Lavonda Ingram, who was sitting in her vehicle in the driveway.

Lavonda exited the vehicle and began stating that a man should know not to touch a woman who was as badly sunburned as she was. Lavonda stated that her husband, [WITNESS #1], grabbed her around her neck. Lavonda also stated that she did in fact break property, but the property was hers.

Sgt. Phillips made contact with [WITNESS #1] who was standing under the carport. Sgt. Phillips asked [WITNESS #1] why Lavonda was so upset. [WITNESS #1] told Sgt. Phillips that she was getting ready for work and became upset with him while he was helping her get dressed. [WITNESS #1] stated that Lavonda could not locate an item she was looking for which set her off. [WITNESS #1] stated that is when Lavonda grabbed a broom and broke the TCL 32 inch flat screen tv the was hanging on the wall in the living room. [WITNESS #1] stated that Lavonda then grabbed a sword that was approximately 4 feet in length. [WITNESS #1] stated that he took the sword away from Lavonda and put it in a corner in the kitchen. [WITNESS #1] told Sgt. Phillips that Lavonda grabbed the sword again and began walking towards him.

[WITNESS #1] said that he did grab Lavonda around her neck and chest area to keep her from coming closer. Sgt. Phillips asked [WITNESS #1] how the brown wooden chair that was damaged under the carport became damaged. [WITNESS #1] stated that Lavonda damaged it when she went outside. Sgt. Phillips asked [WITNESS #1] if any other property was damaged. [WITNESS #1] stated that Lavonda took the sword outside and began damaging the Jon Boat that was parked in the front yard. Sgt. Phillips walked to where the boat was located. Sgt. Phillips observed to punctures in the side of the boat and small dent. The punctures appeared to be correspondent with the tip of the sword.

Sgt. Phillips made contact with the daughter who called 911. The daughter stated her mom was upset at her dad while he was helping her get ready for work. The daughter told Sgt. Phillips that she had audio recordings of her mother acting out but the speaker in her phone would not allow the sound be played for Sgt. Phillips. The son who was also present, stated that Lavonda was upset because she could not locate a pair of earrings and was going to be late for work. The son stated that he was present for the entire altercation.

Sgt. Phillips made contact with Lavonda outside the residence. Sgt. Phillips advised Lavonda that she was being arrested. Deputy Michael Starling placed Lavonda in handcuffs and escorted her to his patrol vehicle. Dep. Starling transported Lavonda to the Decatur County Jail. Sgt. Phillips will submit a warrant application for the offense of Criminal Trespass Family Violence against Lavonda.
