DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. – Authorities arrested a 28-year-old man after he allegedly ejaculated on a woman’s back in the Peachtree Boulevard Whole Foods Market on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The victim, Dr. Sabine Lovell, explained that at first, she thought someone had maybe spilled coffee on her back, but when she touched the wet spot, she discovered it was semen.
Dr. Lovell, a plastic surgeon, said she felt “horrified and enraged. Just no words. Disgusted.” She explained that she had just completed a Pilates class and visited the store to purchase a few grocery items.
She stated, “I see this gentleman walking down the aisle, who’s pretending to be shopping, and he’s holding a basket; and he looked kind of like a normal gentleman, like late 20s – early 30s, nothing like extra suspicious about him.”
When she bent over to grab a bag of chips, he walked up to her from behind. She said, “I felt something like wet and warm on my back, and so I put my hand on the small of my back, and then I saw that it was like this gooey, white substance, and I turn around, and I see this guy looking at me, and then he zips his pants up.”
He ran away, and she immediately began running after him, loudly yelling for someone to stop him before she called the police. She wanted to draw as much attention to the situation as possible and gain witnesses.
She stated, “This was broad daylight on a Saturday. I’m sure he’s done this before, or this could escalate to something more, like rape or murder, so I want to make sure that this goes on his record and it follows him.”
Police said they responded to the store just before 3:00 PM.
A Whole Foods Market spokesperson said the company is cooperating with law enforcement. The grocery store’s security footage captured the incident and corroborated Lovell’s details.
A witness spotted the suspect running across the street to a gas station and entering a black Kia Niro. The witness snapped a photograph of the vehicle’s license plate, and authorities utilized the Flock system to identify the vehicle’s owner.
Officers later conducted a traffic stop on Troy Calliste in Gwinnett County and transported him to the DeKalb County Jail. Calliste faces charges of sexual battery and public indecency.
