On 05/06/26, I (Ptl. M. Holt) responded in normal patrol mode to 504 College Dr, Residence Hall 5, in reference to a Disorderly Conduct in Progress call.
Upon arrival, I made contact with a B/M (later identified as [VICTIM #1]) who advised he was jumped and robbed. [VICTIM #1] advised he woke up to a text message from a B/M (later identified as “Pooh”) who invited him to the Rams Edge at 405 E Whitney Ave at the 2000 Blg, (unknown room number) to come over and record some music.
[VICTIM #1] advised him and his brother arrived approx. 1400 hours and met Pooh by the vending machines outside near the parking lot which faces the Day Care Center at Albany State University. They walked After entering the room, some time passes when [VICTIM #1]’s brother asked the group in the room for some water to drink. [VICTIM #1] stated one of the males escorted his brother out of the common area of the dorm and exited the door.
[VICTIM #1] advised he stood up after sitting on a couch or chair and sat down on the arm rest. [VICTIM #1] advised Pooh and his friends began disassembling the music equipment when Pooh walked up to him and grabbed his wrist with his right hand where he was wearing his G Shock with diamonds on it and was told to give it up. [VICTIM #1] advised observed what appeared to be a Glock handgun in his left hand.
[VICTIM #1] advised he was able to snatch away from Pooh. Shortly afterward, he was hit in his mouth and fell onto the ground. [VICTIM #1] advised he was surrounded by approx. 4 males which he doesnt recognize. [VICTIM #1] states he was struck in the mouth which caused him to fall. [VICTIM #1] advised approx 2-3 males were in possession of a firearm, including Pooh.
[VICTIM #1] then stated another male said to him, “I need that phone, too.” The phone was snatched out of his hand, then shortly given back to him. [VICTIM #1] was told to check his CashApp. He advised he didnt have anything on it. [VICTIM #1] stated Pooh checked his pocket to search if anything was inside. [VICTIM #1] advised nothing is in his pockets. [VICTIM #1] then advised he was told by one of the males to erase the messages in his phone by deleting his eSIM card. [VICTIM #1] then stated someone told Pooh to “just let him go.” [VICTIM #1] and his brother runs to the Residence Hall #5.
Pooh is discribed as being a light-skinned male with short hair wearing a afro, standing approx. 5-09 – 5-11.
I observed [VICTIM #1]’s lip with a large laceration on the left side with a dried blood stain left on his gray in color tank top shirt. One of his front teeth is chipped after being struck with the firearm. Photos were taken of his injuries and will be submitted into the Albany Police Department’s evidence locker #02.
EMS Med 06 arrived on scene. Lt. Diaz was already on scene. Sgt. Jackson arrived shortly after. Lt. Batson was briefed. Sgt. Clark from Investigations arrived. A NCIC/GCIC search was conducted on [VICTIM #1] for possible wants/warrants which yielded neagtive results.
This case will remain active and will be forwarded to Investigations.
