On 3/27/25 we, Ptl. Harrell and Ptl. Simpson, responded to [1300 BLOCK] E. Residence Ave. in reference to a Disorderly Conduct.
Upon arrival, we made contact with Ann Bass who stated that Brentley Irvin kicked her in the stomach, hit her in the arm with a toy stroller, beat her dog with a stick and tried to hit her with a lawn mower blade. Ann stated she and Brentley got into a verbal argument about missing ground beef in the fridge. Ann advised she asked Brentley to leave the residence. At that time, Ann stated Brentley was refusing to leave and kicked her in the stomach. Ann then took Brentley’s clothes and threw them outside. Ann stated her intention wasn’t to throw the clothes where the dog was but said that Brentley didn’t need to beat the dog. Ann stated that when they were outside, Brentley threw the plastic stroller and it hit her shoulder. Ann stated that Brentley then grabbed a lawn mower blade and was trying to hit her with it.
We then made contact with Brentley. Brentley stated that she was asleep on the couch when Ann woke her up and asked her about ground beef, to which Brentley stated she didn’t know about it. At that time, Brentley stated Ann asked her to leave to which Brentley tried to put her socks and shoes on. Brentley advised that’s when Ann grabbed her face and started hitting on her. While speaking with Brentley we, Ptl. Harrell and Ptl. Simpson, observed a small scratch on her right cheek. Brentley stated that she didn’t purposely kick Ann in the stomach but rather she was trying to prevent Ann from continuing to hit her. Brentley stated Ann took her clothes and threw them outside near the dog on purpose. Brentley advised she didn’t beat the dog with the stick, but did try to stop the dog from messing with her clothes that were on the ground. Brentley stated Ann threw the stroller at her and tried to hit her with the lawn mower blade.
We then spoke to a neighbor who advised she didn’t want to be involved. The neighbor advised she was at home asleep. She was woken up by Ann and Brentley yelling at each other when they were outside. The neighbor stated she walked over to broke up the altercation.
Brentley Irvin and Ann Bass were both placed in double locked handcuffs, to the rear, and were both searched incident to arrest.
We transported Ann Bass to the Dougherty County Jail and Sgt. Dorminy transported Brentley Irvin to the Dougherty County Jail.
Upon arrival, both Sgt. Dorminy and I secured our weapons in the trunks of our patrol cars while inside the Jail. Ann Bass and Brentley Irvin were turned over to the Jail staff without incident.
Brentley Irvin was issued a misdemeanor citation (BB001802) for Disorderly Conduct and Ann Bass was issued a misdemeanor citation (BB001804) for Disorderly Conduct.
This case was cleared by arrest.
