On 06/11/2026, I, Ptl. Stephens, responded in normal patrol mode to [100 BLOCK] Adams St. in reference to a 911 hang-up call.
Upon arrival, I made contact with a female identified as [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised that she called police for assistance because the father of her children, Cantrell, had assaulted her. [VICTIM #1] stated that Cantrell became angry after learning that she had been involved in a sexual relationship with another man. [VICTIM #1] advised that she was asleep on the couch when Cantrell entered the residence and slapped her multiple times while her nephews were present in the living room.
[VICTIM #1] stated that Cantrell then forced her into a bedroom and continued to physically assault her. [VICTIM #1] advised that Cantrell tied her feet together and placed her hands behind her back before continuing the assault. [VICTIM #1] further stated that Cantrell placed a firearm against the side of her face and repeatedly questioned her about the other male.
[VICTIM #1] stated that she was crying and screaming in pain during the incident. [VICTIM #1] advised that Cantrell wrapped the strap of her purse around her neck and choked her while placing a sock in her mouth. [VICTIM #1] stated that Cantrell forcibly penetrated her an*s with his pe*is. [VICTIM #1] stated that during the assault, Cantrell’s pe*is slipped from her an*s and penetrated her vagi*a. [VICTIM #1] stated that Cantrell then forced his pe*is back into her an*s and continued penetrating her against her will. [VICTIM #1] further stated that Cantrell picked her up multiple times and dropped her onto the floor.
As a result of the assault, [VICTIM #1] sustained multiple visible injuries. I observed bruising on [VICTIM #1]’s head and swelling on her forehead. Photographs of her injuries were taken while at the hospital and uploaded into evidence. Cantrell Anderson was charges with Aggravated Battery.
I transported [VICTIM #1] and her two juvenile sons to [2900 BLOCK] Rosebrier St. for their safety. I notified Sgt. Tuten of the incident. An investigator responded to the hospital and met with [VICTIM #1] regarding the assault.
This case is being forwarded to investigation.
