On March 28, 2025, I, Ptl. Whitus, responded in normal mode to the 2300-blk of E Oglethorpe Blvd., in reference to public indecency.
Upon arrival, I observed a male, later identified as Darrell Hawkins, running west-bound in the 2300-blk of E Oglethorpe Blvd., without any cloths on. Hawkins was holding two boxes around his genital area. Once I exited my vehicle, Hawkins stopped walking and faced my direction. I asked Hawkins where was he coming from and where was his cloths. I could barely understand the words coming from Hawkins’ mouth due to him appearing to be under the influence of some type of substance. I then asked Hawkins did he need medical attention. Hawkins stated he did not so, Hawkins was placed into double locked handcuffs to the rear and placed into the rear of my patrol vehicle, (19-944). Due to Hawkins appearing to be under the influence of some type of substance, I still requested for EMS to respond out to the location.
Med 4 arrived on scene and advised that all his vital signs were stable and that he did not need further medical treatment. Hawkins was transported to the Dougherty County Jail, where he was turned over to their staff. My duty weapon, displaying S/N: (CDBB671), was secured into the trunk of my patrol vehicle. Hawkins was turned over to their staff on C/N: (BB001810), for public indecency.
This incident is cleared by arrest.
