I, Ptl Loud responded in normal mode to [2600 BLOCK] Whispering Pines Rd in reference to an armed robbery later identified as burglary and false imprisonment.
Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1], who stated his cousin, Shanard Hunt, took approximately $8000 from out of his bedroom that was located at the top of his closet. [VICTIM #1] stated that Hunt texted his phone at approximately 1844 hours on yesterday (08/06/2026) and told him to pop out (meaning come outside). [VICTIM #1] stated his cousin arrived in a blue Dodge charger that he had not seen before. [VICTIM #1] stated that he asked his cousin where the vehicle came from and his cousin responded that his mom rented the vehicle. [VICTIM #1] stated he thought it was strange but did not ask any more questions.
[VICTIM #1] stated his cousin drove to the convenience store located at N Westover Blvd and Westgate Dr (Woodalls) to purchase a black and mild. [VICTIM #1] stated after they got the black and mild his cousin drove back to his residence. [VICTIM #1] stated his cousin began to drive up and down the alleyway and then park in the front of his yard. [VICTIM #1] stated his cousin then drove into the alleyway again where four black males wearing all black with ski masks and firearms came out of hiding (behind bushes and trash cans) and held guns to his head. [VICTIM #1] stated they threatened to shoot him if he screamed or moved. [VICTIM #1] stated at this time his cousin ran full speed to his residence and entered his home.
[VICTIM #1] stated his brother, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was at home when his cousin entered the home. [VICTIM #1] stated his brother later told him that Hunt made him help look for the money. [VICTIM #1] stated the money was located at the top of his closet under his papers, but on top of his high school diploma. [VICTIM #1] stated one of the males that was holding a black Glock with a colorful switch, took his phone from his persons and threw it out in the alleyway. [VICTIM #1] stated he was unable to find his phone until today (which is the reason why he reported this incident late).
[VICTIM #1] did show me text messages of where his cousin texted him from [REDACTED] at 1844 hours yesterday telling him to pop out. I observed a response from [VICTIM #1] acknowledging the text message. I also observed a text message sent from [VICTIM #1] to his Cousin at 2144 hours yesterday stating come on bra. I questioned [VICTIM #1] about the sequence of when he found his phone in the alleyway. [VICTIM #1] seemed confused as to why there would be a text message sent last night from him. [VICTIM #1] described the charger having a silver emblem on the side of the car that says 392. [VICTIM #1] also mentioned one of the males hitting him in the head with the gun. [VICTIM #1] stated that it left or knot, but we would be unable to see it due to his hair being in dreadlocks.
I attempted to make contact with his little brother in regards to this matter. I asked [VICTIM #1] to tell his mother to step outside so that I could have consent due to his Little Brother being 11 years old. His mother responded to the door to make contact with me. His mother told me that I was not allowed to talk to him regarding the incident. I asked his mother if she knew of this incident and she stated [VICTIM #1] did not tell her. His mother did not ask any questions and acted very nonchalant and disinterested. His mother eventually got in her vehicle and left the scene with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]
I asked him why he did not inform his mother, and he stated because he knew how her attitude would be towards it. [VICTIM #1] advised me the money that his Cousin took was a settlement that he got from a car accident in September of last year. I provided [VICTIM #1] with a business card and advised him that an investigator would be in contact if we were not able to detain Hunt. [VICTIM #1] stated his cousin lives at [400 BLOCK] Lucille St.
Myself and Ptl Medlock attempted to make contact with Hunt at this address with negative results. His stepmother answered the door and stated that she did not know if he was inside of the residence or not. She went to go check the residence and came back outside and advised me nobody was there but herself. Shortly after, Ptl Medlock advised that a black male took flight from the back of the residence. Ptl Medlock later detained the subject at a nearby smoke shop. The male late identified as [REDACTED], advised he took flight because Hunts stepmother came out back and told him to run because the police was here. [REDACTED] advised he was sitting at the back porch of the residence because he was waiting for his homeboy [REDACTED] to arrive. I asked [REDACTED] what his homeboys name was and he stated he did not know his government name. After we conducted a warrant check (negative results) for [REDACTED] we released him.
Lt. Taylor also responded to the scene (where we had [REDACTED] detained).
I conducted a Flock search for the timeframe and the description of the vehicle that [VICTIM #1] provided me with. At 1852 hours yesterday, I observed a vehicle in the 2300 block of Whispering Pines Rd, with a vehicle tag of [REDACTED]. I hit the lookup tab to search all movement of the vehicle however, I was met with negative results.
I ran all parties’ names through NCIC/GCIC for active warrants with negative results.
[VICTIM #1] does not have any cameras on his residence.
Aggravated Assault will be another added charge but was not included due to NIBR errors.
