On 05/28/2026, I Ptl. Stephens responded in normal patrol mode to [1500 BLOCK] Georgia Ave in reference to Family Violence.
Upon arrival, I made contact with a female named [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated her husband, Jamie Morris, had an attitude all morning, so she left to go to the grocery store. [VICTIM #1] stated that when she returned home, Jamie still appeared to be upset. [VICTIM #1] stated she told Jamie that he would be in the dark this weekend because the lights were off.
[VICTIM #1] stated Jamie pushed her, and she tried to use her hands to block him from pushing her. [VICTIM #1] stated Jamie grabbed her by the neck area. [VICTIM #1] said they both fell onto the floor. [VICTIM #1] stated that while she was on the floor, Jamie balled his fist up at her. [VICTIM #1] stated she called for her grandson, [WITNESS #1], to help her multiple times. [VICTIM #1] stated that when [WITNESS #1] came out of the room, she told him to go outside and call the police from a neighbors phone.
I made contact with a male named Jamie Morris. Jamie stated he was sitting on the couch when his wife, [VICTIM #1], came home. Jamie stated [VICTIM #1] was trying to provoke him and kept saying things to him. Jamie stated he grabbed her flowers and threw them in the trash. Jamie stated [VICTIM #1] hit him in the back with a broom while he was throwing the flowers away. Jamie stated he turned around to grab the broom. Jamie stated they were both grabbing each other, and that is how they both fell onto the floor.
Sgt. Franklin was notified and respond to the scene. Detective Ellis was called on scene. Ellis met me on scene and collect statement from both parties. Ptl. Framer transported Jamie Morris to the Dougherty County Jail.
I made contact with a female named [REDACTED]. [REDACTED] stated [WITNESS #1] was crying and saying, Please help. [REDACTED] stated [WITNESS #1] asked if they could call the police because his grandfather was fighting his grandmother.
