I responded in normal mode to 300 E Oakridge Dr (Circle K) in reference to an armed robbery.
Upon my arrived I observed a black male wearing all black with yellow in it standing in the parking lot. I made contact with the male who identified himself as [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] advised about 5 males robbed him. [VICTIM #1] advised two males walked up to his vehicle (blue 2016 Honda Accord Sport displaying Ga tag [REDACTED]). [VICTIM #1] advised he was at the gas pump (pump 4) and the subjects pulled up in front of him (pump 2) in a brown SUV. [VICTIM #1] advised one male went to the passenger side and one male came to the driver side window and was talking to him.
[VICTIM #1] advised the male on the passenger side opened the door and got inside of the vehicle and immediately brandished a gun (black Glock handgun). [VICTIM #1] advised the other male was at his window both just asking him questions such as what is his name. [VICTIM #1] advised one of the males stated he knows him from somewhere. [VICTIM #1] advised the male that got in his passenger seat he did recognize but he does not know his name or where he remembers him from. [VICTIM #1] advised he has probably seen the subjects out or on the south side.
[VICTIM #1] advised as the male that approached his window first walked up he noticed a black 9mm handgun on his waist but advised he kept trying to hide it. [VICTIM #1] advised the male who got inside of his vehicle pointed the gun near the side of his body and told him not to move. [VICTIM #1] advised there was also another subject who jumped on top of the hood of his car pointing a turquoise AR-15 at him through the front windshield. I did observe shoe prints on top of the hood of the vehicle and front windshield.
[VICTIM #1] advised he told the subjects “they got it” and they took his car keys (on a red ring with several other keys) and Louis Vuitton lanyard with his license in it and left the scene heading east on E Oakridge Dr. [VICTIM #1] could not advise what else was taken at the moment. I processed the vehicle for fingerprints yielding positive results from the driver and passenger side door/door handles. The fingerprint cards will be logged in property management evidence locker #02.
Ptl Drake made contact with an employee inside of the store and was able to retrieve video footage. In the video I observed a brown Honda CRV pull up to pump 2 at 0205 hours. A male wearing a blue shirt got out from the front passenger side and a male wearing all black got out from the rear passenger side. I observed the male wearing the blue shirt go to the driver side window of [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle and the male wearing all black go to the passenger side.
The male wearing all black opened [VICTIM #1]’s car door and got inside of the vehicle. The subjects talked for approximately 2 minutes then a third subject got out from the rear driver side with a long gun and jumped straight on top of the hood of [VICTIM #1]’s car (not touching it at all) and pointed the gun at him through the front windshield. The third subject (got out from the rear driver side) was wearing an orange/brown jacket with a grey hood and possibly grey pants.
A fourth subject wearing a white t shirt and black pants got out the driver seat of the CRV at 0207 hours and went toward [VICTIM #1]’s vehicle as all of the other subjects were now brandishing guns at [VICTIM #1] but I did not see the fourth subject pull out a gun. By the time he was approaching the vehicle all of the other subjects were running back to the vehicle. The fourth subject got in the driver seat and the vehicle left the scene heading east on E Oakridge Dr. Ptl Drake logged a copy of this video in evidence.
I checked FLOCK for a vehicle matching the description yielding negative results. Lt Gadt however, was able to locate a possible tag for the suspect vehicle [REDACTED]. The vehicle came back to Rodreges Strum who has an address of [700 BLOCK] Moultrie Rd Apt [REDACTED] which is in the direction the vehicle fled the scene of the incident. Lt Gadt advised the vehicle hit at 0211 hours on Sands Dr which would have been shortly after the incident occurred.
Lt Gadt, Sgt Outlaw, Sgt Hart, Ptl Slankard, and Ptl Farley all responded to [700 BLOCK] Moultrie Rd to attempt contact yielding negative result. Shortly after that Lt Gadt advised he located the vehicle at [600 BLOCK] Sands Dr in front of apartment [REDACTED]. I was advised by Sgt Outlaw that two subjects ran south from Sands Dr and to check Crawford Dr area.
While canvassing the area I observed a black male wearing a white tank top and black jeans walking fast heading east on Crawford Dr. I made contact with male at Cameo Ln and Crawford Dr who identified himself as “Jr”. “Jr” Rodreges Strum advised he was already on the phone with an officer and told them he was heading to his aunt’s house on Johnson Rd.
I placed the male in double locked handcuffs to the rear. Strum was searched for weapons/contraband yielding negative results. I observed scratches on Strum’s left arm and tree stems through his hair. Strum was placed in the rear of my patrol vehicle. Ptl Drake went and got [VICTIM #1] to conduct a show up. I had Strum stand up outside the vehicle while Ptl Drake did the show up. Ptl Drake confirmed [VICTIM #1] advised that was the subject.
I transported Strum to the Law Enforcement Center investigations. After investigator Lt Dennis Richardson responded I was advised to transport Strum to the jail. I transported Strum to the Dougherty County Jail. Upon arrival at the jail I placed my duty issued weapon in the trunk of my patrol vehicle. I escorted Strum in the jail. Strum was turned over to intake officers.
Lt Samantha Richardson, Lt Gadt, Sgt Outlaw, Sgt Sherman, and Sgt Hart all responded to the scene.
