On July 16, 2025, at approximately 2053 hrs, I responded to [100 BLOCK] Walnut Dr. for a threats call.
Once on scene, I made contact with Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. [VICTIM #2]. They both advised that a white Nissan Rogue tried to run them off the road as they were walking alongside the road. They stated that the vehicle then turned around and came back toward them, almost hitting them again. They stated the vehicle came to a stop, and the passenger pointed a gun at them and threatened to shoot Ms. [VICTIM #1].
Ms. [VICTIM #1] was able to provide a license plate picture, which provided the address of the registered owner.
I then arrived at [3100 BLOCK] Sandhill Rd. and made contact with Ms. [WITNESS #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised that Dylan Crout and Jose Cabrera-Cruz were the two currently driving the vehicle.
Ms. [WITNESS #1] made contact with Mr. Crout and advised him to come back to the residence.
Mr. Crout and Mr. Cabrera-Cruz arrived on scene with their hands up out of the window as they knew that we knew they had a firearm.
Mr. Crout admitted to trying to run them off the road twice, and Mr. Cabrera-Cruz admitted to pointing a gun at them.
The firearm was located in the driver’s side backseat pocket. The firearm is a Stoger STR-9SC 9mm, serial number T6429-22Y08841, equipped with a TRICA flashlight and laser combo.
They were both placed under arrest for aggravated assault. CID was notified.
Written statements were obtained from both Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. [VICTIM #2].
