On 01/13/2025 at approximately 2312 hours I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Rosewood Dr. in reference to a fight in progress call. Mr. [REDACTED] (complainant) advised dispatch that a large fight was taking place at the residence. He then notified dispatch that he had heard gunfire.
Three additional calls were received by dispatch for the same incident.
I activated my lights and sirens and ran code to the call. While en-route dispatch informed me that a white in color pickup was seen leaving the residence. It was unknown at the time if anyone was injured.
I arrived on scene at approximately 2316 hours. Upon my arrival I was able to observe a large group of people located on the front lawn of the residence. It was at this time that I confirmed that Mr. Caleb Landon (victim/suspect) had sustained a gunshot wound to the right side of his face. I notified dispatch and they immediately dispatched FIRE and EMS to the scene.
It was also at this time that I made contact with the following individuals:
Ms. Roni Tracy (victim’s mother/suspect)
Mr. Caden Tracy (suspect /witness)
Mr. [JUVENILE #1] (suspect/juvenile)
Ms. Cassedy Micari (suspect/witness)
Ms. Cassedy was holding Mr. Caleb in her arms when I initially arrived on scene. I immediately began rendering aid to Mr. Caleb and waited on additional units to clear the home. FIRE arrived on scene along with additional deputies. FIRE began rendering aid to Mr. Caleb while another Deputy and I conducted a security sweep of the home. Once inside the residence I located Mr. Michael Johnson (suspect/victim).
Mr. Michael had sustained lacerations/abrasions to his face. I returned outside of the home to begin gathering information from the parties.
Crime scene tape and a crime scene log was started by supporting deputies. Mr. Caleb was treated and transported to Memorial hospital in Savannah by Effingham EMS.
While outside I did was unable to find a shell casing for the round that was fired.
I began speaking to Ms. Ronnie and asked what had happened. She explained that she and Mr. Michael were neighbors and friends. Mr. Michael had texted her to come over to his home at approximately 1054 hours to speak with her. Once in the home she claimed that Mr. Michael had solicited her for sex. She then left the residence and returned back home.
Once Mr. Roni was back at her residence she informed Mr. Caleb, Mr. [JUVENILE #1] and Mr. Caden what had happened. This made all three subjects go over to Mr. Michael’s residence and make entry without permission. They began assaulting him after making entry.
Ms. Roni claimed that she and Ms. Cassedy went over to Mr. Michale’s residence to stop the fight. They managed to help separate the parties from inside of the home and claimed the fight ended. Once outside of the residence Ms. Roni claimed that Mr. Les exited the residence with a revolver and pointed it at Ms. Cassedy. Mr. Les allegedly fired one shot at Ms. Cassedy but missed which resulted in Mr. Caleb being shot.
Mr. [JUVENILE #1], Mr. Caden and Ms. Cassedy all corroborated Ms. Roni’s statement reading the fact that Mr. Les fired the gun. They also claimed that Mr. Michael handed Mr. Les the gun.
They described the firearm as being a revolver.
Mr. [JUVENILE #1], Mr. Caden and Ms. Cassedy all completed witness statements that captured their narrative of the incident.
I returned inside of the residence and detained Mr. Michael. I did not place him into handcuffs. I then escorted him outside and placed him into the back of my patrol car. I read him his Miranda rights and asked him if he wanted to speak to me to which he advised yes.
Mr. Michael confirmed that he did invite Ms. Roni to residence to discuss a debt that he was owed by her. He claimed that he was owed $400.00 dollars by Ms. Roni. Once inside the residence he was told by her that she would not be able to pay him back. He then said to her, “Is there another way to work it out”. Mr. Michael claimed that Ms. Roni misunderstood him and became upset. She then returned back home.
After a brief time Mr. Michael claimed that Mr. Caleb, Mr. [JUVENILE #1], and Mr. Caden forced the door in and began assaulting him while he was sitting on the couch. He claimed that Mr. Les and Ms. [WITNESS #1] were inside of the home and witnessed the incident. Mr. Michael alleged that he witnessed Mr. Les grab Mr. Michael’s black in color .38 caliber Police special revolver from a drawer while he was being assaulted.
Mr. Michael claimed that Mr. Les managed to get the boys outside of the home and followed them outside. Once outside Mr. Michael claimed that he heard one shot go off. I asked Mr. Michael who fired the gun to which he advised Mr. Les did. He claimed that Mr. Les and Ms. [WITNESS #1] left the scene after firing the shot.
CID and forensics arrived on scene while I spoke with Mr. Michael and took control. I managed to obtain a consent from Mr. Michael to search his home. I was then instructed to transport him to Sherriff’s office for an interview by Detective Foy. Additionally, another deputy obtained the statement forms from Ms. Roni, Mr. [JUVENILE #1] and Mr. Caden.
Once the interview was concluded I transported Mr. Michael back to his residence. I then went back into service for calls.
Then at approximately 0247 hours I was notified by CID that Mr. Les and Ms. [WITNESS #1] were possibly back in the area. CID provided me with the tag number and vehicle description of the vehicle they would be driving.
The vehicle was described as being a White in color pickup truck bearing the tag of ([REDACTED]/GA). The truck also had a large tool box in the back.
I positioned my vehicle on Oakland Dr. and positively identified the vehicle. I conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and detained both Ms. [WITNESS #1] and Mr. Les. I placed them both into handcuffs and patted them down for weapons. I did not search the vehicle. I explained to them that they were wanted for questioning regarding the shooting. The vehicle was towed to the Sheriff’s office as evidence.
I then transported them to the Sheriff’s office. While en-route Mr. Les and Ms. [WITNESS #1] made numerous spontaneous utterances advising that Mr. Michael did solicit Ms. Roni for sex. They also claimed that Mr. Michael was the one who shot Mr. Caleb.
I arrived at the Sheriff’s office with Ms. [WITNESS #1] and Mr. Les. Ms. [WITNESS #1] was released from custody after being interviewed by Detective Foy.
I was then released by Detective Foy who advised the following shift would transport Mr. Les to his residence after he concluded his interview. I turned in all witness state forms as well as the consent to search form that was signed by Mr. Michael.
