[NARRATIVE #1 on June 01, 2026]

On 06/01/2026 at approximately 1056 hours, I, PFC B. Smith, responded with EMS to [REDACTED] in reference to an unresponsive male.

Upon arrival, I was advised that the male, identified as [REDACTED], was deceased. I spoke with EMS personnel on scene, who advised that the coroner had been notified and was en route.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the death, I requested Criminal Investigation Division (CID) personnel respond to the scene. CID arrived and conducted an investigation. During the investigation, a bag containing suspected marijuana and various drug-related paraphernalia were located. The items were collected by CID as evidence and are to be destroyed.

Following the investigation, the death was determined to be the result of natural causes.

The reporting party, Amy Nash, advised that she had discovered Mr. [REDACTED] deceased. While speaking with Ms. Nash, I observed that she appeared unusually animated and nervous. I also observed that her pupils were constricted (pinpoint). Based on my training and experience, these observations were consistent with possible narcotic use or impairment.

[NARRATIVE #2 on June 01, 2026]

On 6-1-26 I Pfc Jenkins responded to assist Pfc Smith with a death investigation. Upon my arrival I helped secure the scene and await CID arrival.

Once CID arrived it was determined the cause of death to be natural and the body will be sent out for an autopsy. During the investigation the living condition inside the home was very bad (exposed wiring, several variety of bugs in the home, no AC ect.

Cpt Lom contacted DFCS due to a child 13 years old living in the home along with building inspection tdue to the living condition of the home. The mother of the child identified as AMY NASH was very erratic during the course of our time at the house. AMY’s emotions would change suddenly and AMY was unable to remain still based off my training and experience AMY’s behavior was consistent with someone under the influence of drugs.

Upon the arrival of DFCS and building inspection AMY’s demeanor did not change despite multiple attempts to calm her down. Cpt Lom approached me and stated they had criminal charges on AMY and to place her under arrest and transport her to Floyd county jail due to her vehicle being a K-9 vehicle. I approached AMY and instructed her to put her hands behind her back and AMY initially complied but AMY then began to attempt to pull away from me. I gave AMY several verbal commands to stop pulling away. AMY continued to resist and grabbed my right wrist at this this I directed AMY to the ground where I was able to maintain control of her movements and secure her in handcuffs.

AMY was lead to my patrol vehicle and I transported her to the Floyd county jail. While in route to the jail AMY stated that her handcuffs were to tight and cutting off her circulation. I stopped my vehicle at the corner of Lyons bridge and Booger Hollow rd and checked the fit of the handcuffs which were fine. I continued to the Floyd county jail where she was medically cleared and booked in with out any further issue.
