On the date of 08/15/2026 at 0104 hours, I (Ofc. Shaw) responded to [REDACTED]. in reference to a physical domestic that had occurred.
Upon my arrival I made contact with the complainant ([VICTIM #1]) she stated that her husband (Christopher Rocky Lee Bishop) had gotten drunk and while she was in the shower he was looking around the house for his keys, he went to the bathroom and asked her if she knew where the keys were at and she said no. He then grabbed her and pulled her out of the shower and out of the bathroom, he then placed his hand around her neck and began to choke her.
While this was happening [VICTIM #1]’s 4 year old son [WITNESS #1] was standing there watching. [VICTIM #1] claimed that she could not breath and also started to if not did lose consciousness. [VICTIM #1] showed me where Christopher had grabbed her, there was visible bruising on and around her neck.
I spoke with [WITNESS #1] and he informed me that he saw his dad choke his mom and was scared so he ran into another room. After gathering everyone’s information I left the property and proceeded to [REDACTED]. where my supervisor along with another officer had found and detained Christopher.
Once I arrived I spoke with my supervisor and he informed me that Christopher claims that he left the house before any arguing began. He said that he had been at his cousin’s ([WITNESS #2]) house for 1-3 hours but could not tell him exactly how long. My supervisor said that the car hit on a license plate reader (a camera) at 0040 hours headed toward the Melody address.
I called [VICTIM #1] and asked if she could give me a time that he had left her house, she told me it was around 0040 hours. I then went to Christopher and spoke with him, he informed me that he had been at his cousin’s house for 1 or 2 hours and he had left the house before any arguing took place at [REDACTED]. He stated that he had a few beers but his cousin came to the house to pick him up and they went straight to [WITNESS #2]’s house and he has been there ever since.
Based off of the markings and the statement from the 4 year old child I placed Christopher under arrest, after searching him incident to arrest I placed him in the back of my patrol car and informed him of his charges, I also read him his miranda rights and he refused to speak with me.
I then went back and spoke with [WITNESS #2], he stated that he did pick Christopher up about 2 hours ago how ever when they got to [WITNESS #2]’s place, Christopher wanted to go back home at [REDACTED] to get his keys, so [WITNESS #2] took him back to his house. [WITNESS #2] stated that he stayed in the car and waited for Christopher to come back, he said Christopher was only in the house for roughly 15 minuets.
I then went back to my patrol car and had Christopher get out of the car so I could check his cuffs for fit and double lock them, after I did that I placed him back in the car and transported him to the floyd county jail without incident and released him to the deputies at the jail.
Miranda Read
Handcuffs checked for fit and double locked
Backseat cleared before and after transport
