On June 29, 2026 at approximately 0051 hours, I (Officer Chorjel) was dispatched to return to [2400 BLOCK] Rockmart Rd SE in regards to a man, banging on his neighbor’s front door. Officers had been called to this location several times for the same complaint.

Upon arrival, I made contact with [VICTIM #1] whom I had spoken with previously about this complaint. [VICTIM #1] states that his neighbor, James Turner had been banging on his door on several different occasions as well as yelling at his front door. [VICTIM #1] then showed me a video where a man could be heard loudly knocking on [VICTIM #1]’s front door and yelling.

Dispatch also advised that they could hear someone “beating on the door” while speaking with [VICTIM #1] on the phone. [VICTIM #1] then stated that Turner had been banging on his door throughout the evening and on one occasion Turner walked into his ([VICTIM #1]’s) house while yelling at him.

PFC Young advised that while I was speaking with [VICTIM #1], he (PFC Young) saw Turner looking at us through his window and upon shining his flashlight at him, he quickly ducked down.

I then spoke with Turner who stated that he was sleeping in the front room and had not been knocking on anyone’s door. When asked who else could have been knocking, Turner stated that it must have been a different neighbor due to [VICTIM #1] not being liked by any of the other neighbors. When asked why he ducked down upon seeing Officers, Turner stated that he did not duck down and that the person who had ducked down in the window must have been his brother-in-law. Turner goes on to state that his brother-in-law was at the residence and was taking a bath with his sister (Turner’s), [REDACTED].

Turner was then placed in handcuffs to the rear, checked for tightness and double locked. I then searched Turner incident to arrest and placed him in the rear passenger seat of my patrol vehicle. While en-route to the Floyd County Jail, Turner made several statement that he did not knock on anyone’s door and that [VICTIM #1] was jealous that his female companions wanted to talk to him (Turner).

Turner stated that the neighbors do the same thing and “everybody messes with him because of how he is” but he (Turner) does not get involved. Turner then asked if [VICTIM #1] had told Officers that he (Turner) was banging on his door as well as entered his residence. I then advised Turner that those were in fact the two complaints although I had not mentioned to Turner the complaint of him entering [VICTIM #1]’s residence prior. Turner was transported to the Floyd County Jail without incident and booked for his charges.
