Officer’s Narrative:

On 8-6-26 at approximately 0435 hours I, Officer Tanner was dispatched to [SINGLE DIGIT BLOCK] Roseway Cir in reference to a burglary.

Upon my arrival I spoke with the complainant a Ms. [VICTIM #1] and she advised me she was woken up by her daughter a [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (JUV) screaming for her saying there was a man in her room. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated she got out of bed and screamed for the man to leave her home. Shortly after she stated she checked the surveillance footage because they have a camera in their living room and confirmed there was an unidentified male in the residence.

I viewed the footage and saw a short and skinny suspect that appeared to be a young male possibly wearing a mask and was crawling up the steps on his hands and knees and took a left at the top of the stairs. After topping the stairs and turning left and approach a doorway where the door was open.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated this room belonged to her 14 year old daughter [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (JUV). The male appeared to be somewhat light in complexion and was wearing an over sized hoodie (possibly the kind that is a blanket and hoodie in one). As he was standing up I observed he was not wearing shoes and it is unclear if he had on shorts or even underwear during this time.

Shortly after standing up he enters [REDACTED BY AGENCY](JUV) room and closed the door. This was for several minutes until [REDACTED BY AGENCY](JUV) awoke and screamed for her mother. This is when the suspect ran out of the room, back down the stairs and out the back door. It was presumed the door was left unlocked by accident by the roommate that lives downstairs a Mr. [REDACTED].

In the footage it appeared the suspect was using his cellphone as a light source. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (JUV) stated this is what woke her up. Ms. [VICTIM #1] believes he was taking pictures or videoing her because when she awoke he was shining the light on her holding up the cover exposing her body. Ms. [VICTIM #1] also stated her daughter was in panties at this time.

Ms. [VICTIM #1] nor her daughter were able to identify the suspect but Ms. [VICTIM #1] believes it was a neighbor a few street over by the name Mr. John Turner. She stated its been a few years but he has made sexual remarks toward her and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (JUV) before, to the point she spoke with Mr. Turner’s mother about his behavior. She stated that Mr. Turner saw her daughter walking down the street and commented to her about dragging her in the home and performing sexual acts on her. She also advised he was talking to a friend of her daughters and found her daughters SnapChat through the mutual friend and added her. She has since blocked him but during the time he could view her story [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

According to Ms. [VICTIM #1], Mr. Turner has never been inside her residence to her knowledge. She and I questioned [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (JUV) on if she had ever invited him over to which she was adamant she had not. The concern was how did he know how to get to her room with no prior knowledge of the home. Either a lucky guess or he’s been observing her for some time through social media and possibly the neighborhood. If it even is Mr. Turner to begin with. Ms. [VICTIM #1] also noted her other children a [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (JUV), [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (JUV) and a [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (JUV) were all present in the residence during this time.

During this time Officer Zenga patrolled the area but was unable to locate anyone before arriving back on scene to assist. Surveillance footage was submitted to Evidence.com by Mr. [REDACTED]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. [REDACTED] was advised a report would be made documenting the incident.

Investigator Gongwer arrived on scene and spoke to all parties and attempted to obtain prints. At this time the investigation is ongoing and additional evidence may be collected at a later date.
